More Cartoons Purged From Max

It seems like every few months, we gets news of cartoons leaving Max with very few announcements of cartoons coming to Max. There is yet another another round of cartoons that have recently been purged.

For DC cartoon fans, classics Static Shock, and Teen Titans, Green Lantern: the Animated Series have been removed. The first seven seasons of Teen Titans Go! have been removed, although the eighth remains for now.

For Cartoon Network fans, classics The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy and Ed, Edd, n Eddy have been removed. These series are available on Adult Swim’s Checkered Past nostalgia block for those wanting to see these shows. The 2010s classic The Loony Tunes Show has also gotten the boot, yet isn’t old enough to be on Checkered Past.

Really, Max has been the worst place for cartoons to stream as it seems like only one specific genre has done particularly well on the streaming service: Adult superhero cartoons like Harley Quinn, Kite Man: Hell Yeah!, and Creature Commandos have all at least made it to season two, with Harley Quinn making it all the way to season five. Non superhero adult cartoons, such as Close Enough or Scavengers: Reign have also been purged. Velma has yet to be purged, but it did get cancelled after only two seasons.

The Cartoon Network catalog on Max is getting more and more bare. The Powerpuff Girls and Courage the Cowardly Dog are the last remaining classic era shows. Apple and OnionCraig of the Creek, We Baby Bears, Adventure Time and season 8 of Teen Titans Go! is all that remains of the modern era.

One would hope that these cartoons could show up on Hulu or another platform, but it seems like many series from the last round of purges remain without a streaming home. There is nothing good about this news for cartoon fans. Unless you like TV-MA DC cartoons, Max is not the place for animation.
