Is there not already a thread for this subject? I'm creating this thread for discussing the removal of animated shows from the Max streaming service.
Not that this justifies removing it, but is TTG even as popular as it was when it was dominating schedules? It doesn't air as much as it used to and it wasn't even the second most aired show last I saw.
yeah, it's probably not the #1 show on CN anymore and maybe it hasn't been for a while, but it's still pretty popular i think. It's still popular enough for CN to have done that mega marathon not too long ago.
Some other tweet said Max got rid of its specific Kids and Family subsection, which probably gives away the game.
I kinda hope they sell CN because WBD's treatment of the classics in Europe is just plain terrible. Let's hope the new owner either launches a late-night block on CN Europe showing classics, revives Boomerang Europe without any modern crap, or launches a European version of the Tooncast channel.I know kids programming hasn't been doing well in the ratings in recent years but dang.
It's only a matter of time before they sell Cartoon Network considering they're not really using their stuff for their own streaming service.
Though Paramount was already giving a lot of their animated stuff to Netflix rather than their own streaming platform perhaps that's the plan here. Being more of just a provider of content going forward. They might end up giving new AT and RS content to Hulu or something.
If you can’t beat em, join em.I just started getting Max again to catch the final episodes of Craig of the Creek but I’m going to be done after that. Unless they make some major changes I’m not subscribing again.
You know what would be cool? If the purged series came to Tubi (excluding the ones that are on Hulu). Tubi already has older Hana Barbara shows like The Flintstones and Scooby Doo.
I honestly doubt WBD will ever sell Cartoon Network at all. If anything, the channel needs a better managerial team along with that I'm still angry at Zaslav for purging a lot of content from the company and relying heavily on reality television.I kinda hope they sell CN because WBD's treatment of the classics in Europe is just plain terrible.
Still better than Europe...From the front page of AnimeSuperhero.com.

"The day Bugs Bunny aficionados have been dreading has finally come to pass. After several reconsiderations and false starts, Warner Bros has finally followed through with its threat to remove the entirety of the classic Looney Tunes shorts from their Max streaming service. They’re no longer there.
The scrubbing has been a multi-step process. In 2022, over 250 of the shorts vanished from the service overnight. In 2023, the remainder appeared under the “Leaving Max” category temporarily, until they claimed it was a “mistake” and set them back. It seems now they’re serious."
