"WWE Night of Champions" 2014 Prediction Thread

"Hard work, dedication, never quitting, now you looking at a champion." Make your picks for Night of Champions now. Picks cannot be made or edited after 8 p.m. ET on Sunday.

Night of Champions has [seven] scheduled matches, so everyone's total will be out of [seven]. If you refuse to pick on principle, we have no clue who you want, or you just plain miss it, you will get it wrong.

Please note that you must pick a winner. "[Champion] retains" must be taken as "[Champion] wins" as you cannot make a pick that allows you to be correct if the Champion wins or if they lose by disqualification or count-out.

Also note that "Draw" is an acceptable prediction and covers a double count-out, double disqualification and other situations that result in a no contest. Matches will not be thrown out due a draw.

Typically, the only circumstance that results in a match being thrown out is a change in the participants of the match (i.e. if an additional Superstar/Diva is added or a Superstar/Diva is removed and replaced by someone else). This is not a hard and fast rule however, and is done on a case-by-case basis.


Remember, matches announced after the thread has been posted will not be counted. There is no reason to predict a match that is announced Saturday as there will be no points awarded.

Lesnar over Cena- This match will be more competitive than the one at SummerSlam, but will have the same result.

Reigns over Rollins- I hope I'm wrong about this one, but I don't see Rollins winning unless there's outside interference

Orton over Jericho- Y2J is basically a jobber to the stars at this point

Ziggler over Miz- Right now Dolph is hot and Miz is not.

Sheamus over Cesaro- It's sad that Cesaro has been reduced to jobber status

Gold and Star Dust over The Usos- Jimmy and Jay have been good champs but it's time for the belts to change hands

Paige over AJ and Nikki Bella- The Bella Twin is basically being used as filler in this one.

Rusev over Henry- I think Cena will be the first to beat Rusev

These four are pretty easy. The rest? Not so much.

Dust Bros. over Usos. The twins have been champs since, what, February? Every time we thought uncreative would put the belts on the Wyatt Family, they went the other way. The Dust Bros. get the titles back, which I think is the "cosmic key" they've been talking about.

Nikki Bella over Paige & AJ. Common sense says the belt should stay with Paige, but Vince wants to pimp out Total Divas to the max.

Cesaro over Sheamus. Neither really needs the US belt, but Cesaro certainly deserves to be elevated up the card. Creative incompetence has him where he is, and that should change.

Ziggler over Miz. I cannot see Miz regaining the IC so soon, as that would make last month's surprise switch irrelevant. Kinda like Miz himself, and he's further devalued with Sandork as a "stunt double".

Just a heads up: Reigns vs. Rollins has been pulled from the card, as Reigns just underwent emergency surgery earlier today (and will likely be out for a few weeks).

While I wanted that Reigns/ Rollins match removed since they already gave it away for free on RAW, this isn't quite how I thought it would go down. Hopefully the big guy recovers quickly.

Oh I don't know. AJ

Chris Jericho vs. Randy Orton
Jericho always seems to win the first one.

Mark Henry vs. Rusev
Rusev I have to see it, but I have trouble picturing it going the other way.
