This is a pretty cool site that a friend posted on his Facebook page: I Write Like...

Copy and paste anything you recently wrote (forum post, blog post, whatever) and it will analyze your text and compare it to the works of a famous author.

I tried it and I guess I write like Cory Doctorow. I've never heard of the guy, but his Amazon page shows that he's pretty prolific.

So, who do you write like? (By the way, if you use Adblock, turn it off for this site. It won't show you the author's works otherwise.)

Taking a few of my poems, I write like the following:
Mary Shelley
Raymond Chandler
P. G. Wodehouse
Margaret Atwood
George Orwell
James Joyce
Vladimir Nabokov

It said Dan Brown for three separate fic samples. I call BS. Never even read his stuff.

On three different samples, I got H.P. Lovecraft, Cory Doctorow and Douglas Adams.

I've never heard of Doctorow, and I've never read any Lovecraft or Adams.

Goofing around again, from the same story I got Kipling, Anne Rice, and Cory Doctorow.

Then I used another story and got Earthsea's author. I'm interested in the algorithm it uses to come up with this stuff.

Gave it another try by copy and pasting some Rudyard Kipling into it.
He writes like Ursula K. Le Guin and James Fenimore Cooper.

Trying Shakespeare I find he writes just like William Shakespeare.

I did three different samples and got Oscar Wilde on all three.

That's fun; I love Oscar Wilde.

Apparently I write like Douglas Adams. Yes, the same Adams who wrote The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
I guess I should be flattered.

I had a few "beat cards" (got the idea from Tina Fey's Amex commercials) where I write whatever story ideas came out of my head on recipe cards, but threw some of them out (didn't like them) If I write any ideas down in the future, maybe I'll test them on that site.

And Norway's unbeaten streak over Brazil continues thanks to their 2-1 victory that led them qualified to the FIFA World Cup quarterfinals (second round, first round is the round of 16) tonight.
Those doing the pyramid burger on YouTube are doing it wrong. Let it cook until it's well done because I've seen people doing it and trying it before spitting it after realising that it's raw.
I have another theory as for why Johnny Bravo is neglected by CN nowadays. Putting aside the basic concept, it's the retools that made the show chaotic.
I might be the only one who cares but why is Scooby Doo basically unavailable everywhere? Netflix has only Mystery Inc and the two James Gunn movies. Tubi has What's New and Where Are You. Meanwhile HBO Max has basically nothing. I've been itching to watch the classic Scooby Doo direct to video movies lately and they're nowhere to be found outside of purchasing them on sites like YouTube.
Last night started watching a new adult animated series, a Netflix original that is basically the succesor to Big Mouth.

What is so great? Despite being a 18+ show, they actually bothered to give it a Romanian dub :ack::eek:
