Whitney - the sitcom

Have any of you seen the new sitcom on NBC known as Whitney? It's about comedienne Whitney Cummings' life, or at least, a semi-autobiographical look at her life.

I say it's pretty good. It's nice to see a woman like her having her own sitcom in the same vein as Seinfeld.

First time I've heard "Whitney" and "good" in the same sentence.

I get the sensation NBC just renewed it because they hate Community fans and wanted to put it before that show to annoy them and depress its ratings further.

Watched maybe a minute of the first episode before I heard the laughtrack and turned it off. Will never watch it again.

The previews before it premiered didn't make it seem so bad, but then I watched about three minutes of an episode and it was positively dreadful.

Pretty much this. It looked like a very promising show with dynamic and fun characters, and it failed to deliver.

My wife and I watched the whole first season. It's ok. It's not by any means the greatest comedy on tv. It's watchable. But I think Zooey Deschanel's New Girl on Fox is the much better new comedy from last year. Of course The Big Bang Theory is arguably the best comedy on television right now.
