In 2008, Nelvana brought to us their own dubbing of Bakugan anime series with toys by Spin Master. The series was aired in USA on Cartoon Network on February 2008.
What if 4Kids Entertainment acquired the rights of Bakugan and made a dub of their own?
4Kids dub of Bakugan: Battle Brawler starts airing on 4Kids TV on FOX on September 15, 2007. 4Kids also made a deal with Spin Master to make toys based on Bakugan and Activision to make video games based on it. However, the other half of 4Kids dub of Bakugan started air on a new block, The CW4Kids, on June 21, 2008. The second season, New Vestroia, starts airing on April 4, 2009. The third season, Gundalian invaders, starts airing September 4, 2010. while at the same time that The CW4Kids renamed itself into Toonzai. The fourth and final season, Mechtanium Surge, starts airing on August 27, 2011, this season marks as one of the last dub from 4Kids before getting into bankrupt.
When 4Kids went bankrupt, While Konami buys the U.S. rights of Yu-Gi-Oh and 4Kids Productions, Saban Brands buys the rights to Bakugan, along with other 4Kids properties such as Sonic X, Cubix, Hamtaro (if 4Kids gets the rights and make a dub), Dragon Ball Z and more. Saban also acquire 4Kids' The CW Saturday Morning block. Toonzai was later replaced by Saban's Vortexx on The CW and reruns of Bakugan airs in this block until September 27, 2014, when Vortexx ended.
In 2015, Saban Brands had a plan on relaunching the Bakugan franchise with a reboot anime-style series. Saban Brands filed the lawsuit against Mattel, GuangZhou Lingdong Creative Culture Technology and Alpha Group for violating Bakugan patients, make a deal with Spin Master to relaunch Bakugan toys and partnering with Cartoon Network to air Bakugan reboot series. Saban announces that Bakugan will be reintroduced globally in 2019.
However, On May 1st, 2018, Hasbro purchases Saban Brands' entertainment assets including Power Rangers, Popples, Julius Jr., Luna Petunia, Treehouse Detective, Bakugan and more. After the purchase, the rights to Bakugan relaunch toys moved from Spin Master to Hasbro and a rebooted series, Bakugan: Battle Planet, is now produced by Allspark Animation and started airing on Cartoon Network on February 2019.
