I think they should. Maybe then, studios will realize how passionate people see animation, and when their shows currently in production are thrown off I'd like to see them try to work their way around it.

Still, what the executives did to their talent is still crappy regardless.If it is related to media preservation, IP, closure of cable channel, studio's poor treatment of animation and others are not related to career? Unlikely, it is not part of their goal, especially if studios fund the projects with their money, so they have no say and it would derail the strike that where workers want better pay and better benefits.
