Well, Paris Hilton will be getting her own animated show...

I've got nothing to say except:

Oh geez, thanks Mr. Lee.

This honestly is one of the worst ideas I've ever heard. It's basically going to be a company throwing money down the drain.

Oh Joy

Oh Joy, that snobby, racist, ignorant, bratty, talentless attention-whore is getting her own show.

Good God, how desperate is Stan Lee for trying to make a show on Paris Hilton of all people. How the mighty have fallen...

I still am trying to figure out why that parisite is so famous to begin with. The thing that keeps my hopes up is that this show will probably flop just like her album did.

There are 百 terrible and short-lived celebrity-based cartoons on music channels like MTV, VH1 and V and maybe more. But anyway since that's the case and I bet no one comes to animation boards to discuss PH, there is no point to this discussion. Why talk about something you're not going to watch?

Who knows how being in prison will change her. Maybe she'll come back as a whole new person, a real role model, and someone worthy of an animated series.
BUT you don't have to be a role model to have a cartoon. It's just that it will suck so much that it sucks already before it exists. It sucks because it's Paris Hilton! Get it? >_o

MTV's spiderman, at least to me, was pretty awesome. It is a shame that show got canned.

This, on the other hand, is an embarrassment to American Animation. When this bombs, the blow to American Animation's credibility *which is already low as it is* will be huge.

Stan Lee is committing career suicide if he goes through with giving Paris her own....hentai? Does American animation porn even have a name?

Ladies and gentleman, it's official: Stan Lee has become a SELLOUT.

It's official! Stan Lee has now became completely dead to me forever! First, he partners up with Disney, which won't probably help get the pre-2000 Marvel shows to re-air on Jetix at all, and now he makes a cartoon series about some pampered attention whore, who broke the law by overdrinking and speeding in a 35 MPH zone! I really thought Stan Lee had much more class than this:sad: !

It really does suck that Lee's turned into this, because the man could walk into my house, rape my cat, and then defecate in my living room, and I just wouldn't be able to ever be mad at him.

At the same time, reading one of these posts mentioning how he got gyped on the royalties made me seriously consider that.

I don't know what kind of money Stan Lee has, but after starting as many god damned comic franchises that HE has, he should be set for life money wise. So either he's genuinely just lost his mind, or the poor guy is struggling.

He's already gone into obscurity, but I remember seeing that guy from Third Rock From The Sun (forgot his name, John maybe?) The old bald dude. I remember reading that he took acting lessons for like decades, did Shakespear in the Park, and is just overall an amazing thespian.

Then one day I saw him doing a Campells Soup commercial......

....this is Stan Lee's Campell's Soup....

every one's getting a cartoon, just like in the 70-80s. don't be surprised if you see "The Adventures of Dracula_Marth" soon

So how long until Stan decides to do a cartoon centered around the former Anna Nicole Smith? Cause we all know since her passing, she's been regarded as the countries hero.

No, you don't, but you'd hope that if Stan Lee is working on it, she'd turn into someone respectable. It's not like it hasn't been done before. Saint Augustine lead a life of debauchery...he even had a sex tape, if memory serves...and he turned his life around.

Now there's an image.

John Lithgow? I don't think he's struggling for work. I think he's just doing a lot of theatre work, so you don't see him doing too many movies or TV shows much anymore.

Jesus... this is what I mean whwn I say that people who make cartoons like this don't care about animation at all, and yet it gets greenlit.

I makes me frggin' sick.

Stan Lee, please stick to comic books, your ruining my already crappy bread and butter here.

Yeah, I think many would agree that American animation has gone off the deep end. No decent cartoon idea on a large scale has come out of the US since the 50's, apart from some movies.

Okay what I said is not true but I'm pretty disappointed to always have to look towards Japan to find something good nowadays. Most of their shows are inaccessible to me so that's a pain in the ass. I plan to study there in university mostly just to be able to watch Japanese tv because there's nothing good in English I haven't seen.

Oh another thing I wanted to say is that the Golden Age of animation in the US was in mid-2oth century and in Japan it is still going.

Pfft. There's just as much crappy anime as there is crappy USAnimation. I agree that there aren't a lot of good cartoons on right now, but I get tired of people treating anime like it's our savior and what comes from Japan is automatically superior to anything the US or any other country has ever done. You can't generalize an entire genre of entertainment by just 4 or 5 shows; there are literally thousands of shows out there, each of them aimed at a different crowd and made by different production teams. Saying "All USAnimation is crap" is like saying "All books are crap" or "All movies are crap". It's a ridiculous, biased statement that's absurd to the point of being funny.

Sorry to be so harsh, but it bothers me how some people, on the internet especially, worship anime just because it's anime. A show should be judged by the quality of its' content, not by its' country of origin.

Firstly I admit I was rash in generalizing all American and Japanese animation, that's because I was in the ticked off zone. But I do believe that there's not one good American show in production NOW and those that used to be good have JTS and are no longer that good (like Family Guy, The Simpsons, Southpark, Spongebob, every CN show that hasn't been killed by the network etc.).

Also I think USAnimation is going back to the ways of 70's with budget-cutting when it comes to framerate and music. Yes, anime never had a good rep when it comes to framerate, but at least they're not getting any worse in that department and US cartoons are. Also in Japan they spend heaps more money on music then in the US when it comes to cartoons. Another thing is there are definitely more adult-focused cartoons in Japan then in the US which don't solely rely on toilet humor and celebrity references.

I just don't see a comparable level of awesomness in American cartoons compared to anime in any individual project on a large scale, any more. I hope that puts it more decently.

I agree. I like anime just as much as the rest of you, but they produce just as much crap as we do in the states. I could never understand the world wide phenomenon that is 'Pokemon'. There are probably two, or three anime shows i could name that deserve way more recognition than 'Pokemon', but it would probably go in one ear, and out the other. Anime may take more risks than we do, but all of it is not better some of our best cartoons.
