WBD Acquisition Thread

Obviously, and if needed, they can sell WBD again and forget about it. After all, Larry doesn't want to drag both PSKY-WBD and Oracle into the trash bin.
If Oracle does get dragged down by OpenAI in the middle of this, though, it's very hard to see Zaslav not getting the $7B check here, because the stock used as loan collateral is upended by an overall AI tech crash.

i think this was made back when the initial rumors were WB buying Paramount, as opposed to vice versa
thats actually what I'm thinking too not sure why some people are so shocked by this is there something I'm not getting?

Ellison was deadset on nabbing Paramount Global from the start. Was he offended that Zaslav wanted to engage in talks with the Redstones about an all-stock deal?

When it comes to a Silicon Valley trust fund kid who has never taken "No" for an answer, it's definitely believable he took it as an insult and could very well hunt down WarnerDiscovery not just out of a hungry obsession but because he wants to send an entitled "How dare you, that's mine. So after that, you're next. " message to alternate suitors like Zaslav who got in his way.

He got the news sites and financial analysts to do PR attacks on Sony-Apollo, Bronfman, and literally persuaded Barry Diller to look the other way and all of it couldn't have been possible without financial incentives.

Billionaires doing punitive retaliations isn't a rare thing in reality so Ellison's bruised ego pushing him to go after WarnerDiscovery immediately after digesting Paramount Global makes total sense.

Shower thought, what if Paramount really has to sell Nickelodeon, it ends with Comcast? They grabbed Sky when Disney couldn't get it, Dreamworks content did air on Nickelodeon, and Nickelodeon UK did have ties to Sky UK...

I mean, it could easily as well be Sony because they don't exactly have many kids brands as Disney or Comcast does.

But then again, this whole pursuit could also collapse in front us at any possible moment.

There is still option they to wait the deal to get approved without selling Nick or CN I rlly hope they to don't sell them.

I want this to happen so badly. Paramount is like how Discovery was, an unnecessary company for WB.
AT&T was going to saddle WarnerMedia with a portion of their $150B debt load anyway so what it got out of combining with Discovery was getting more non-fiction, unscripted content like Food Network, Animal Planet, Science Channel under its roof.

The U.S. channels may be bogged down by a lot of crappy reality TV reruns but the international networks do get more of a variety of educational content mixed with inherited sports programming from Eurosport like the Olympic Games rights, which has boosted HBO Max's expansion.

Glad I got you to watch Stranger Things.

If I may recommend more media for you to check out, here's a starter:

You've mentioned that haven't read the original TMNT comics from Mirage Studios. Well, this video by YouTuber "Soundout12" gives a decent roadmap for where to start:

dmxx116 really likes to wish for people not to return back to so and so because their films didn't do so well. I don't agree with everything he says, though I agree on that Jared Leto shouldn't play Skeletor.
I'm sorry but I disagree with what GRPHX said about the past five films with Daniel Craig as James Bond as well as the choice of Denis Villeneuve as director and Steven Knight as writer in the next film because I really doubt Villeneuve's take will be like the Craig films at all and besides, all of the stuff he mentioned happened before the Craig films such as Licence to Kill.

Hi, welcome to Toonzone

There's something about seeing kids cry after they mess up big time that really gets to me. One can definitely feel bad for Layla.
