Episode 60: Ends and Beginnings! The Result of Resistance
Chapter 119:Point of Turning
Dama thought about the request Osvata had made to ORDER. It was something she had never mentioned to him before. He thought to himself, “She wants us to merge bodies with her? On one hand, I’ve put my complete trust in her and she hasn’t led me down the wrong path once. But on the other hand, I do care about all of my followers, and I can’t force them to do something they aren’t completely behind. Perhaps Tartite is right, maybe there is another way.”
Osvata noticed Dama’s hesitation, and a scowl appeared on her face. “Look at what they’ve done to you, Dama. They’ve made you doubt me. They want you to turn against me, the one who has guided and protected you for all these years. You know you can trust me, and if they can’t trust me, then they are against our goal.” Osvata then opened her hand and extended her arm forward. Five strings of web shot out from her fingers at an incredible speed and the five followers of ORDER were hit almost instantly.
“My energy!” Ritti exclaimed, “She’s taking it!”
“You will join with me.” Osvata spoke, her voice no longer caring and motherly. Instead, it was cold and powerful. “Combined with me, we will have the power to change the world!”
“Dama!” Fedetra cried out. “Help us! We don’t want to merge with her!”
“Dama, please…” Tartite followed, “You know there has to be another way to do things.”
Dama remained motionless, and Skevipaar realized what must have been going on inside of him. He thought, “Between her and us, he will choose…”
Dama then started to walk towards the one he identified as Goddess. “Very well, I will do as you request, Osvata.”
“Dama!” Iykkari yelled, “So you’re still going to side with her, huh? Fine then, we’re going to have to fight back.”
Tartite’s eyes opened wide in shock, “You don’t mean…”
Iykkari continued, “That’s right. We’re going to fight them, because they are now our enemies!”
When Osvata heard this, a smile crept onto her face, “If you aren’t going to cooperate with me, then we are no longer on the same side. I am ashamed of all of you followers. Never did I imagine that my first enemies, my first obstacles who are trying to stop me from improving the world, would be you.”
As the members of ORDER could feel their bodies getting weaker and weaker, Iykkari shouted, “Quick, we have to stop this now.” The members of ORDER realized the situation they were in. They saw Dama and Osvata standing together, and knew what they had to do in order to live. “Now that they are our enemies…” Iykkari started.
“We must treat them as we would an enemy…” Fedetra continued.
“We must show them no mercy.” Tartite added.
“For all that is good in the world…” Ritti followed.
“We will vanquish our enemies by casting…” Skevipaar spoke.
“Final Judgment!” All five of them shouted in unison. A bright white light followed by a powerful burst of energy erupted through the area. Osvata and Dama shielded their eyes and held their footing. When everything had calmed down, the two found themselves surrounded on all sides by the other five ORDER members. In their transformation, all of them had broken free of Osvata’s thread.
“Please, stop this!” Dama shouted, “Do you realize what you’re doing?”
Osvata looked at the fighters around her and scowled. She thought, “This isn’t supposed to happen.”
As each member of ORDER readied their weapons, Iykkari spoke, “We’re going to save you, Dama. We’re going to save you from the threat that is Osvata!”
“All of you, stop!” Dama yelled with increasing panic. However, it was too late to reason with them.
“Drain it lifeless! REAPER’S TOUCH!”
“Complete suffocation! GAS PRISON!”
“Fry its corpse! Extra crispy!! ELECTRIC PILLAR!”
“Cleanse the Earth of those who are unworthy! HEAVEN’S RAY!”
“Pierce its soul! VORTEX RUSH!”
The members of ORDER then launched their most powerful attacks, and Osvata’s and Dama’s eyes opened wide in fear.
*Chapter End*
Chapter 120:End of World
The five attacks met in the center. However, before they made contact with Dama and Osvata, a barrier activated around the two of them. The barrier nullified all five of the attacks at once. As the barrier canceled the attacks, the look of fear on Osvata’s face quickly turned into one of sadistic joy. She extended both of her arms, and from her fingers, ten threads of web pierced through the shield and traveled to the ORDER members outside. Still unable to move after their attacks, the members were defenseless to escape the threads. Two of them went inside each of the bodies of the members and drained their remaining energy.
“But how?!” Ritti exclaimed in shock. As they looked at the shield, each of them saw two sets of 5 machines rotating on the outside of the shield.
“Those machines…” Skevipaar commented.
“The ultimate defense…” Tartite noted.
“It can’t be…not him.” Iykkari spoke, realizing what this development meant.
Standing a short distance away was the sixth follower of ORDER in his Final Judgment form. He then started to walk towards the center of the group, where Dama and Osvata stood. As he passed by Fedetra, she struggled to ask, “Why…why did you help them…and not us.”
“All of you should be ashamed of yourselves.” The man spoke. He then passed through his shield and stood alongside Dama and Osvata. “Attacking them like that, after they found us, took us in, and helped us discover our powers. Dama has put all of his trust in Osvata and will stand beside her. I have put all of my trust in Dama and will stand beside him. Therefore, I will trust in and stand beside Osvata, and it’s a shame that the rest of you didn’t.”
The other members of ORDER were shocked by these words. They wanted to ask him so many questions, such as how did he even know who Osvata was and why he stood against them. Unfortunately, using their Final Judgment attacks depleted most of their strength, and Osvata was taking the remains. The five members fell to the ground.
“Ritti…” Tartite whispered, “Best friends…”
“Forever, Tarti.” Ritti gasped before closing her eyes. Tartite’s eyes also shut after.
“Skevipaar…I…” Fedetra started. Before she finished, her body completely shut down.
“Fedetra…” Skevipaar followed, and then his body went motionless.
Iykkari had his eyes locked on Tippem, “I…looked up to you.” He thought, “How…could you…” His body then shut down. The bodies of the ORDER members, all at once, disappeared.
“It is done.” Osvata spoke, bringing her threads back in. Tippem brought down his shield and turned back into his regular form. She then continued, “Dama, Tippem, the two of you have shown true loyalty to ORDER. The two of you shall stand at my side as we fulfill our goal and change the world. Now, let’s go-”
“Enough!” A voice shouted. The three of them looked forward to see Moltar standing there in the Virtual World with them, a revolver in his hand. “I can’t sit back and watch this any longer. Dama, Tippem, do you realize what Osvata has done? The bodies of your other members in the real world…they’re gone!”
“Of course they are.” Osvata spoke, “I made it clear that they would merge their bodies with mine. Now they exist within me.”
Moltar then raised his revolver and aimed it at the head of Osvata. “Dama, I know you and Tippem are good people, but her, Osvata, she’s not. You can’t let her manipulate you! I won’t let her!” He then pulled the trigger, firing a bullet as Osvata. Osvata smiled as the bullet stopped just inches away from her face and then fell to the ground.
“Yes…their power shall be enough.” Osvata spoke. “Come, let’s go.”
“No!” Moltar yelled. “Shadow, now!” In the laboratory, Shadow hit a key, and a black-armored suit appeared over the body of Moltar. He then activated the boosters on the back of the suit and flew towards Osvata. She held her finger up, and once Moltar got close, his suit immediately stopped. “What? But how!?”
“Bye bye.” Osvata spoke, and then touched the suit with her finger. The suit, with Moltar inside, flew backwards with incredible force. It rolled and tumbled across the ground, battering Moltar’s body around inside it. A couple of seconds later, it came to a stop. The suit disappeared, leaving Moltar on the ground behind.
“Shadow...” Moltar started as he got back up, “You have to…” Moltar then noticed that the ORDER trio was gone. “Where did they go?”
“Moltar!” A voice echoed through the Virtual World, and Moltar quickly recognized it to be his partner, Shadow. “They’ve come-” Shadow then gasped and stopped mid-sentence.
“Shadow? Shadow! What happened?” Moltar asked in a panic.
Shadow once again spoke, this time, in a weak, strained voice, “I’ve…done all I can do for you. Thank you for everything, Moltar…”
Moltar then heard a female cackle that emitted all through the Virtual World. Moltar fell to his knees, tears forming in his eyes. “No…don’t tell me…anyone but Shadow.”
Inside the laboratory, Osvata‘s web threads exited from the back of the chair that Shadow sat in. Shadow was slumped over on the desk, blood pouring from his wounds and breathless mouth.
“Shadow…” Moltar cried in the Virtual World, “My best friend…why did you have to die!” His sadness then started to turn into anger, and he screamed in rage. “Damn you Osvata!”
In the real world, under the dark, rain-filled sky, the ORDER trio stood on a cliff overlooking the building that housed the Virtual World from behind. “As soon as you attacked me, you became an enemy of our goal.” Osvata spoke. “The traitorous followers, inside me; Shadow, dead; and Moltar, abandoned in his own creation.”
Osvata then extended her arm, and a ball of web formed in her hand. “Humans are stubborn. They only want to do what’s best for the individual. However, we plan to do what’s best for all mankind. They won’t accept that, so we will have to use force, and in response, they will challenge us. This is my message, my warning, to the world. If you resist us, then you will meet the same fate.”
She fired the ball of web at the building, and on contact, it caused the building to explode. Everything inside of it, the machines, the Virtual World, and the corpse of Shadow, was swallowed by the blast. Lightning flashed and thunder roared as the flames and smoke billowed towards the cloudy sky. Dama and Tippem, led by Osvata, turned their backs to the remains of the building. They now set their sights on accomplishing the goal of ORDER, to change the world.
