Hello,

Does anyone know if more than one actor did the voice for Scrappy Doo when Scrappy, Scooby and Shaggy were the trio team without the rest of the gang.

The scrappy episodes were not my favorites but it seems to me that the voice for Scrappy sounds different between those "trio" seasons?

Also, does anyone know if the Scrappy, Shaggy and Scooby episodes were anmated in teh US or overseas and if overseas, which animation company did the work?

Sincerely,

Bill

It's common knowledge that beginning with the start of the "trio" period (1980-3), Don Messick, the voice of Scooby during that time, took over Scrappy as well. It's been discussed here that Len Weinrib, the original voice of Scrappy, was let go, not long after the series had started.

To answer your other question, if there was any overseas work done, Wang Film was credited in later seasons, but that would've started around the "New Scooby Doo Mysteries" period (1983-5).

If any of the seasons seems different like it was animated by someone else; the 1982 season was coproduced by Ruby-Spears.

In the earliest episodes with just the trio, Scrappy sounded a bit different; like a bit scragglier or slightly babyish or whatever, but it was still Messick. I guess it took time for him to adjust the voice after he toog over.
