I guess that's one nice thing about Bourassa's designs...they're easy to re-use :p.

I just noticed the street sign near Vixen, Kuasa, Atom and Black Canary's initial location at the start of the episode read State Street. Looking at Google Maps, maybe it was around 98 State St. and Griswold.

Pretty good way to end the season. The fight between Mari and Eshu was cool. Can't really think of much else to say about it.

I also liked the scene at the end, with her meeting all the other heroes. Nice seeing Green Arrow in there too.

Overall, a good season. I think I enjoyed Season One a bit more, but this was good as well. I liked the way they explored the other Totems, and the new heroes included.

Kind'a sort'a anti-climactic. For one, I still disapprove of Superheroes killing or leaving someone to die, another being the solution to fire totem... Really, all you gotta do is smash it? Seriously?!

But nitpicks aside I thought it was a fine final ending for the second season.

^Well, not simply smashing it...

So Vixen took the battle underwater and won... yeah. I guess, Kuasa failed because she didn't really master the Water Totem and was still 'damaged goods' from the spider poison... but you can criticize the finale for undercutting the past 2 episodes since Vixen ended up winning by herself.

But yes, happy to see the multiple animal summoning was the solution after all. Aladdin nod to Agrabah was unexpected but amusing. Dug the electric eel-crocodile combo Vixen used to beat Eshu. But yeah the trope justification of leaving the mass murderer bad guy to die -- been there, done that. Maybe next season they'll reveal he's alive and recovering in a hospital. >_<

Wow, and of all places Coast City! Neat. Huh, and Arrow is Green Arrow now. Figures he'd change it in season 4. Nice callback with Atom's "BTDub", heh. But ugh, not revealing who the big threat was. Man. Probably Weather Wizard again? And boy parts of the animation on the roof scene were kind of bad... But overall, great way to end the season.

Hopefully there will be a season three next year and we'll get to see the Earth and Air Totems in action as well as probably more on what happened to Mari's mother.

Pretty exciting finale and the final fight between Vixen and Eshu was pretty awesome, with Mari's rapidly shifting through spirits and using them in clever ways finally besting Eshu's Fire Totem. Just a really cool and satisfying action sequence to close out season 2 .

Sure smashing it is the simple solution, but Mari calling upon the Animal Kingdom to give her the strength to do it was a pretty awesome moment :D.

I was wondering if Mari was either going to leave Eshu to drown or fish him out to face justice for his crimes. Given how she handled Kuasa last season, I'm starting to think Mari isn't that beheld to a code against killing .

Was that a little flirting on Mari's part with Macalester :rolleyes2:?

So we've got two Totems down, and two to go. Though at the rate they're going, I expect Mari's Spirit Totem will be the only one left by the end :ack:.

I would've liked to have seen in the aftermath Mari mourning a little more over Kuasa. Granted their relationship was never that close or healthy, but Mari did just witness her sister, her only remaining blood relative, get murdered in front of her :crying:.

But with the flashbacks to what happened to her village, it felt like Mari took it upon herself to honor her sister's memory, and the memory of their family and village, which was nice :).

Mari in a dress :anime:.

It was weird seeing Laurel and Ray together at that exhibit. Not that it wasn't nice seeing them out-of-costume, and they looked great in their fancy attire, but by this point in the Arrowverse Ray is presumed dead so I'm not really sure what he's doing outside his suit at a public event o_O.

I was wondering if we would see Oliver turn up this season as Green Arrow, complete with his new costume, so that was cool ;).

And Barry ribbing Ollie is always good for a laugh :p.

That sequence with all the heroes rushing into action with Vixen in tow was a pretty awesome way to close out the season, and a very "Justice League" esque moment. I hope we can get a proper live-action equivalent in the upcoming Invasion! crossover :proud:.

All in all, I'd say season 2 was a pretty good continuation of Vixen and the story of Mari McCabe, as well as being a solid series in general. It expanded on the mythology of the Totems, gave Mari a new villain/Archenemy, and also expanded her horizons in the Arrowverse at large. Seeing more Arrowverse heroes in animation was also pretty cool :D.

I'd love to get a season 3 and develop Mari's story further, though for now I think we can look forward to The Ray to satisfy any Arrowverse animated fix :).

Yeah, I expect Mari's Spirit Totem will be the last one left intact, if the show continues. I guess the spirit of the Water Totem was also released back when Eshu killed Kuasa. I found it a little funny how they put the fragments of the Fire Totem on display at the end.

I'd like to see another season, there's still more stuff they can do - finding (and destroying?) the Earth and Wind Totems, more flashbacks to what happened to Mari's mother, more Mari & Macalester scenes, more heroes from the Arrowverse appearing... plus whatever else the writers come up with. :P

So far Vixen/Mari only had the one appearance in the live action shows? Was there any foreshadowing aside from Vixen and Canary knowing each other already?

Yes, Mari's one appearance in season 4 of Arrow has so far been her only live-action Arrowverse appearance (while her grandmother Amaya has seemingly taken over as the main live-action Vixen).

In that same episode she also (I believe) mentions finally meeting Felicity and talks about Barry in a way that implies they've become better acquainted, which is probably the only other indications that she's had deeper interactions with the greater Arrowverse prior to that episode.

Looking back at news bits, we still have something to hopefully look forward to this year or early next:
  • A possible home entertainment release with a bonus episode.
  • A forthcoming announcement of distribution of Vixen beyond CW Seed which may be the above.
  • Airing them on CW as 30 minute specials or a hour long special.
  • They announced season 2 in January so perhaps they'll do the same for season 3 this coming year. However, season 2 ended in November vs. season 1 ending in September so an announcement might not come until March.
  • Then the grasping at straws possibility of a live action series.
I would speculate a Blu-Ray through Warner Archive. Here's hoping.

Cool, I suppose the staff left themselves that door open since it implies she's committed to answering Cisco's texts more often post season 2 as the epilogue indicated. I guess that means more supercrime in places other than Star or Central City? Progress. :P

I think we'll probably be hearing more news about The Ray series before we get anything definitive about plans for something Vixen related, though once the former has concluded it would be cool if they announced Vixen season 3 ;).

Laurel was still wearing her blond wig so no one in Detroit would really recognize the former Star City ADA (?). Ray, I would contend, no one in the Detroit art community would immediately recognize a Star City tech guru who's been dead for 6+ months like the same way no one recognized a ball cap wearing Earth-2 Harrison Wells routinely going to the same Jitters or even no one seeing Oliver's face when he was just the Hood in Arrow season 1 (but Starling apparently is not a well lit city) until it was clearly off his head. :D
