I normally despise this holiday

This holiday sucks for single people. And normally I'd go on to rant about how and why I despise this holiday, but I'm not going to. (This is the new and improved positive Sam)

Heh, I asked True Noir yesterday if she'd be my valentine and. . . she said yes! So yay, I've gots me a chick.

EDIT: Man, I'm good. I have another valentine-- Gwen. Heh, I'm good with the ladies. . .

Valentine's Day I'll be working at my internship and then watching a movie for class. Not like I ever care about Valentine's Day, though.

Valentines Day....So cute and fuzzy it makes me want to hurl. <--Eh...probably because I'm single.

I wish I had a boyfriend.

And I don't have any plans. My parents will be in Cancun on a company trip and me and my brother will be stuck at home with our grandparents.

hmm... vday is monday right? I get home from school early on mondays, so I'll probably have to put up with my brother and his annoying skanky girlfriend all day. they never go out and for some reason he's afraid of her parents, so they always end up at our house... it's not that I have anything against dating or girls (or vday) in general, but this particular girl is so damn annoying I just want to pick her up and toss her out a window. maybe I'll just put some laxative in her chocolates.

I plan for all of the money I'm getting over this weekend from my birthday to remain happily in my wallet.
....and at least until next weekend I don't want those plans to change.

On monday I'll hopefully be getting the contracts signed and turned in for my apartment next year...go to class, go to the gym, and then I will probably go to sleep. Translation: I find the day to be not much more than a corporate birthed psuedo holiday . Either way I'm thinking more about my future pad on Monday .

Since our school has break next week the people at my school exchanged vday stuff today. I got 2 cards a few flowers and chocolate. No plans though I probably just going to hang with a couple of my friends.

Well, this year I'm going to be single for it, and if it turns out that it isn't the worst day ever, especially since it was my dad's birthday who is now sadly passed away, I will laugh at these people. Every year around this time, we always get a bunch of threads from some people saying how much Valentine's Day sucks if you're single. Well, this year I'm going to be single for it, and if it turns out that it isn't the worst day ever, especially since it was my dad's birthday who is now sadly passed away, I will laugh at these people. Laugh. FOREVER. Bwahaha!

But seriously, I usually do something nice for the SO the day before or the day after but this year she got me to agree to do something on the actual day.

Anyhow, nothing probably too elborate dinner, romantic stuff, maybe a hot-tub and champagne, professions of love etc. etc. I already gave you diamonds what more do you want from ME?! *Sobs*

bleh....even to the really open-minded people with someone, V Day still is a bad holiday, at least to me. Love is supposed to be spread year round.

I'm hopelessly single and yet Valentine's Day still makes me happy, I love the fact that there's a day set aside specifically to celebrate romantic relationships The cliched "candy and flowers" thing never did much for me, it depresses me to think of people giving the best person in their life something so very - well - generic, but every once in a while you see couples who figure out a way to make the day unique to them and that just touches me to no end =) So while, sure, part of me gets bummed to be alone on Valentines Day it's sort of a pleasant ache, similar to how walking outside in the rain can be oddly nice when you know there's a nice cosy warm couch and fluffy blanket waiting for you at home - someday I'll find that guy who likes me well enough to go through the trouble of finding me a firefly necklace instead of some empty diamond thing, and in the meantime I'll just make do with the anticipation =)

Good for the New Improved Sam, now with added Positrine and Retsin! A lot of the fm radio stations around here are getting geared up for the Bitter Ball and other I'm-Single-and-Bitter, anti-Valentine things. eh. If you're into that sort of thinking, I guess it's fine. I just see that sort of attitude as pretty much self-destructive. :shrugs:

We girls have to stick together.

Me? I have lots of Valentines. Or at least, I think I have lots of Valentines. Whether the recepients feel the same is anybody's guess.

However, I am only one person's Official Valentine Sweetheart. So there.

All I ever see is "w"itchy girls heckling their significant others with "you'd better get me something good for Valentines day, or you're so in trouble" and I cna't help but feel I'm better off without it.

and I agree with Saiya-Jinro, there shouldn't have to be a specific day to celebrate this. All it is is some way for card/candy companies and posh restaurants to cash in big. I feel almost the same about Mothers/Fathers day, except that almost everyone can participate in those ( unless you're missing some parents ) and I personally don't feel an obligation to the "holiday' like I would with Valentines day, Girlfriend or no.
