Upcoming Nick Programming

Casting for Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Don has been finished. According to some casting boards I read, two sets were tested. One with a younger set of quadruplets, and one with an older set of quads. According to a poster, Nickelodeon went with the younger set.

Also, it looks like Smart Alec was originally supposed to be a Disney show, but they didn't pick it up.

I feel like using a character's name as the title is an insult to the audience's intelligence. Shows like Spongebob and Invader Zim sort of sneak by this since they're names are very unique. Invader Zim could mean ANYTHING. Zim, for all we know, could've been a vocabulary word in the Irken language. The unusually-named shows give us a reason to watch them because we have no idea what the show will be about, as the title doesn't give away the premise. When we have titles like Pig Goat Banana Cricket, Sanjay and Craig, Drake and Josh and Sam and Cat, it becomes insultingly obvious the show is going to be about these characters. One shouldn't judge a show by its title, but when the subject is blatantly in the viewer's face, it's as if the only way people will watch a show is if the premise is put front and center with the most simplistic stuff.

Another reason to root for Bad Seeds.

I always felt the buddy sitcoms like Drake and Josh, Sam and Cat, Sanjay and Craig and Robot and Monster are OK. The shows are about two friends, no biggy. It's the four of PGBC and NRDD that is a bit much. Although both are working titles and could be changed.

Yeah, buddy titles are no stranger to television, from Laverne and Shirley to Will and Grace. But four names is a bit much.

I'm glad Nick is creating more content for its preschool block, but the block is already packed to begin with, I wonder where they are going to put these shows. They need to create a consistent and organized block of shows.

The fact that the new Dora is premiering in the Fall means Nick has huge plans for this series. Crazy how a show that didn't even premiere well after a special managed to turn into the #1 series with Pre-K viewers.

I'm so glad the network is making long term plans.

I've said this before, but I think we don't give Nick Jr. enough credit - all shows pull strong numbers. Now, of course I don't really care how it does in comparison to Nick proper. BUT, Paw Patrol has been a huge addition to the lineup and Wallykazam (CGI/grammar), Blaze and the Monster Machines (CGI/science/technology) and Dora and Friends (2D/music?) are all EXTREMELY unique and I could really see them taking off as well. Their previews were great.

Seems like Disney Jr. launch made Nick go extra hard in developing innovative and engaging shows for K2-5. Seems like they've got em in these shows, along with the current batch. I agree the lineup is packed with Dora(3), PP(3), TUZ(2), BG(2), and PR(1). But cut back one Dora, PP, and that's two extra slots. Who knows, some of them might be ending as well. Shoot is Dora continuing with this spin off coming up? Anyway, this might turn out to be a beastly K2-5 lineup by the end of the year.

NickALive!: Drake Bell Hints That Nickelodeon May Make A Third "Drake & Josh" Movie

Drake and Josh script for third movie? Would be interesting to see if this came into fruition. It would definitely be a hit. And if the cast is in tact, people will also tune in to see Miranda Cosgrove.

Dan an has built such a pantheon of shows on Nick, I think these reunion specials or guest stars can definitely a ploy to use organically (and not forced or done excessively). For instance, if Carly or Tori ever made an appearance on SaC, that would absolutely blow up.

That's odd...

The person "writing" the "script" certainly isn't Dan.

My first thought on "Bad Seeds": "It looks like Chowder meets Birdz".

There's no sound right? Regardless ... ya, this show is gonna be a welcomed addition to the network. What a beastly animation lineup Nick is building.

So apparently from the way this is going... they're making a clone to a certain award show by Cartoon Network (which had no reason to be needed).. that is a rip-off of Nick's award show (except being about sports)? o_o

I don't understand why they would want to do another award show.(especially for sports). when there's already a few nominees (both the Male & Female Athletes) that are about Sports (from their small respective catergories). If this is what I think it leads, then that could lead that they'll soon remove them because of this change on the actual KCA's.
