Upcoming Nick Programming

While I'm happy C.H. Greenblatt's show got picked up, PGBC just looks like yet another attempt to out-Cartoon Network Cartoon Network.

While I am happy to hear about more Nicktoons, whether I see them or not... Agreed - that is a problem worth dealing with before it's too late.

Bad Seeds was a great pick up IMO. Thought it was long gone since it wasn't picked up when the pilot was first ordered, but CH Greenblatt is proven and I expect this show to be a hit. PGBC does seem pretty CN-ish more because of the characters. Not surprised there were only two cartoons ordered, Nick is pretty set as is, with more Nicktoons likely to be cancelled or finished by the end of the year.

On the live action side, I like the premise for Twang and Matt Flackenstein obviously has credentials for his show. But Nick needs to be very mindful of what they order. Doesn't Schneider and Cannon both have another upcoming projects as well, I was surprised neither were mentioned.

Pretty happy about the news. Weird that Nick announced it now though, figured it would be more fitting during its upfront, but oh well!

t's great to see that Greenblatt will be back in the animation biz once again - almost like a reunion of sorts, considering he used to work on Spongebob. Not to mention that it's always great to see that even more 2D animated shows were picked up! I feel that Sanjay and Craig was the first show to start this and I hope it's a trend that continues. This is the type of creative spark Nick has needed for a while now.

My only gripe is that the name "Mantis" in "PigGoatBananaMantis" got changed to "Cricket". I mean, that doesn't sound nearly as cool! But beggars can't be choosers, I suppose. At least Nick is giving this show a chance.

But wouldn't that kind of defeat the purpose of a pilot? Unless you meant it wasn't picked up right after the pilot was finished.

None of these shows sound terrible actually. I'm thinking Sanjay and Craig's success led to the two animation pickups, as they both sound CN-ish.

The 4 live-action pilots sound promising, and it looks like we're continuing the low-concept/family centered thing.

It appears these are the pilots that Bad Seeds and PigGoatBannaCricket had to go up against:

I think I speak for everyone when I say thank God we didn't get two more Butch Hartman shows.

I'm not diggin' the name Pig Goat Banana Cricket (or Mantis for that matter). It doesn't exactly roll off the tongue well. Maybe they'll change it before the show actually premieres? *fingers crossed*

In all seriousness though this looks like a decent lineup.

I'm glad Nick is picking up/ordering pilots & series from fresh, new creators rather than the same old creators *cough Butch Hartman*. So glad Matt got his own show. (He's worked on Family Guy, and was one of the head writers on iCarly/Victorious) he even wrote a few episodes for Wedell and Vinnie. Deep down, I knew he would.

I'm surprised a Dan Schnieder pilot wasn't ordered. He said he was developing a new project, and he is signed to Nick for 3 years. Have the execs lost faith in him? It could be a little too early, but if Sam & Cat continues to decline, or doesn't live up to expectation, it's going to have to be replaced.

Somehow, I question if Sam and Cat will get a second season or not. Same goes for Hathaways. I hope Nick orders full series with two out of the four live action pilots. I hope Twang and the one by Matt get picked up, because the cheerleader one sounds like a Disney type of series.

Jorge Gutierrez (El Tigre) could use MORE work, though! Even if his pilot doesn't scream all that promising. Well, neither does what was actually picked up, judging by the designs - maybe everything else will impress and I'll get over these negative feelings, just like Sanjay and Craig and Uncle Grandpa... But that took some time, and so will this.

Also, Noted. For. Victory. On Butch Hartman - TUFF Puppy IS a FAILURE, IMHO. And personally, I've had enough of Hartman's hack-knackery for one lifetime!

Aw, I would've loved to see a new Jorge Gutiererrez show.

But i'm wondering how involved will Nick Cross be in the writing of PGBC. So far it just looks like he's only animating it.

He also directed the pilot.

Speaking of Butch Hartman, how about a mega Butch Hartman team up with Fairly Oddparents, Danny Phantom, and T.U.F.F. Puppy?

Glad I got you to watch Stranger Things.

If I may recommend more media for you to check out, here's a starter:

You've mentioned that haven't read the original TMNT comics from Mirage Studios. Well, this video by YouTuber "Soundout12" gives a decent roadmap for where to start:

dmxx116 really likes to wish for people not to return back to so and so because their films didn't do so well. I don't agree with everything he says, though I agree on that Jared Leto shouldn't play Skeletor.
I'm sorry but I disagree with what GRPHX said about the past five films with Daniel Craig as James Bond as well as the choice of Denis Villeneuve as director and Steven Knight as writer in the next film because I really doubt Villeneuve's take will be like the Craig films at all and besides, all of the stuff he mentioned happened before the Craig films such as Licence to Kill.
