Unnecessary cut in Pokemon.

Yu-Gi-Oh's card edits confuse me. The cards in the anime look like this:

Well, the reason for that is:
1.)That top card you posted is the old Japanese style, which is in the Japanese anime.
2.)The bottom one (The US cards) is the new Japanese style. The US cards decided to use the new one, rather than the old one. (Hence why the cards look like this in the movie) Japanese Yu-gi-oh GX uses this style, too.

So in Breif:

Still doesn't make sense, because the original cards don't look like our US cards and they edit it into a different layout anyway.

Yeah, I get that. But it's still toys of toys. But isn't BB cable-only? That might be part of it. Seriously, most toy-based shows run on cable because it's a way to reach consumers with disposable income.

I never heard about that law (though it would explain why the amount of toy-based series dropped in the early 1990s). When was it implemented?

I guess this law doesn’t apply to old cartoons since I still see G.I. Joe on Boomerang from time to time.
Either that, or TV execs figure kids won’t watch Boomerang.

I always preferred Happy Meal toys to the stuff sold in stores. They were cheaper, they offered figures of the female characters (something the store-bought toys rarely did), and 9 times out of 10 the Happy Meal toys looked EXACTLY like the characters were supposed to.
Plus for $2.99 you got a toy AND a meal! Toys 'R Us couldn't beat that!

In reference to GI Joe: Basically, they weren't allowed to put commercials for GIJ toys during the actual show. But they could advertise the Marvel comic book series. So the writer(s?) of the comic were given a few vehicles and settings to put in, and commercials with said vehicles and locations were animated.

And I guess BB gets by since the store tops are plastic and the tv ones have gotta be metal if they can break concrete (just found this out)

No, I think there was a clip where there was a Beyblade store with all the parts. But there are no such things in real life.

So it's more of a specialized hobby on its show than just another item on a TRU shelf like IRL. Dude, these things have to be capable of killing people if they can break concrete. And I'm thinking about this way too much.
