Not that the promos are under attack, but yeah... Bandai likes Toonami.

I'm somewhat wondering if SEED will get the same treatment, given that it's original intro is unsuitable for Toonami...
Considering all the semi-nude scenes, that'd be the least of your cutting worries...

I always love to bring this question up...

Mobile Suit Gundam. Bandai did not want it's original intro to be it's official American intro. Instead, they got Williams St. to make a custom intro for the show. It's the intro that's on the discs and VHS, it's the intro that was on Toonami (And I believe ASA).

What about that? Bandai WANTED a custom intro to be the official one. The official American intro is the Toonami intro.

Actually, the first couple of MSG TV DVD's have the original opening. For reasons I'm still in the dark about, Sunrise made them take it off the DVD's after that point and use the Toonami one instead for the rest.

The operative rule of thumb here: When something funky happens to a Gundam release, look in Sunrise's general direction.

Ah, yes. Sunrise also brought us "NEW YARK" and "GREAT CANYON" in the English version of the PS2 game "Federation vs. Zeon." Sure, they're the wrong names for what are obviously real locations, but it doesn't matter, because they're the official Gundam names!

Beh.

I actually heard those mistakes were personal requests from Tomino. Please say that's wrong. I mean. God...

I plan to have Inu Yasha and Lupin DVDs some day.
Do yourself a favor and skip Inu-Yasha. It's going to be on the CN for a very long time.:(

...

Save the money you'd spend on Inuyasha on... say, the PRNS box set coming out...

Reasons I like "OPs" as everyone calls them is because of Lupin’s season's two and Bebop's ops and such. The lupin one got a catchy song. Bebop's is just nice cause the intro piece “Tank” has a real unique tune unlike your typical anime opening with all the "J-Pop" and stuff. And the video is great in my opinion. Most anime ops are just a bunch of scenes from the show compiled together. In the end, however, Ops are a nice bonus but most have no real value. On the other hand endings credits like Bebop’s finale do have some value.

....to pawn THAT a mere two days later!?

Now that's a reasonable alternative. :D

Yeah, because his fiance will really like a horribly acted show about people in spandex battling people in foam rubber costumes with horrible effects.:p

Sorry Will. I didn't know your fiance liked it. Get her that and Lupin.

...

Um... they watch it.

As part of my agreement with William, I'll watch Gargoyles as he watches DinoThunder. He, luckily, had the chance to catch the first 5 DinoThunders so far. Plus, hell, I turned Jeff Harris into a fan.

Soon... you will be one of us... one of us... one of us.

Okay, so, wait... where'd the theory that WS is "racist" come from?

Noone said they were racist, but that it could be INTERPRETED as racist. By people who interpret things that way.

The theory is that they'll dump intros they don't like, but they'll especially dump Japanese openings. The reason being that they don't want people to get confused or alienated by Japanese singing at the front of a show. They don't mind people tuning out during the credits of the show; they just don't want people tuning out before the show begins.

And that's what could be interpreted as rascist, though I would just say it's awfully judgemental. I doubt WS hates J-Pop or japanese music, at least I hope that's not the case. They said the only anime intro they liked other than Tank was the Macross intro, "even though it's Japanese".

I thought they said, "It'll get stuck in your head even if you don't know Japanese."

The point is that the card basically says they don't like anime intros in general, with the exception of one or two shows.

...

But still, there's a difference between liking an intro "even though it's Japanese" and getting it stuck in your head "even though it's Japanese".

They may be surprised that a japanese song can get stuck in your head, or they might be saying that Macross was good, despite being Japanese.

Japanese theme songs are entirely too catchy sometimes... but I guess that's why we like them.

Believe me... you don't want to waste your hard earned cash on Inuyasha DVD's. They are a HUGE rip-off. 3 episodes a disc for (depending on where you buy them) almost 30 dollars. 10 bucks an episode my friend... even if you count in the subbed Japanese version on there... that's still 5 bucks an episode. Just tape it off of Adult Swim... or at least wait until Viz puts out a REAL box set (not that volume 1 and manga 1 and 2 crap!).

Here's a fun article I wrote on why Ruby and Jade from Sofia The First are good characters.
Okay hear me out, Isn't it kind of crazy how CN never thought about doing a Kids Next Door x Teen Titans OG crossover back in the 2000s? There's five members of Sector V, five titans, and they both have super cool HQs. I'm telling you guys, a TT and KND crossover would've been so epic!
Watched the live-action "Moana" today and felt nothing that special compared to the original 2016 film. In fact, I don't remember much from the first animated film, but I think they barely changed anything in the 2026 version
