Thugaboo Talkback

Has Mr. Meaty come on yet? Why are people judging it before it comes on? Really.
no, and I don't get that either. It comes out on September 22nd. I saw the episode, "Parkerina," at Comic-con, and I LOVED it. People are basing it on the shorts, and the series is different. so to those people judging it already, wait and watch at least one full half hour episode.

Because no one likes puppets.

Mr. Meaty is enjoyable/funny to watch from the shorts that I've seen on Nicktoons Network.

WOW. I just saw the special, and it was... actually, pretty good! I laughed numerous times, and the script was pretty well written. when you look at the way they stereotyped people, you gotta laugh. I mean, having a white kid as a skater that gets hurt, and(this is the best one) how they used the asian girl as the person making the counterfit shoes. The only part that annoyed me was the rapping. I was expecting it to be horrible, but it turned out as a 6.5/10 to me. I will be watching the christmas special, but not with so much anticipation.

This special... I didn't like it that much. Aside from a few laughs, I found many a reason to hate it. From the Chinese girl who magically manufactures counterfeit shoes to Jay Z's appearances and the musical selections, I wanted so badly to roll my eyes and change the channel... but, my brother was watching the program.

Yes, there's the lesson, but every show has one of those. This is a special that television could've done without.

Thugaboo is more proof that Nick is circling the bowl.

Hopefully Random cartoons will generate some new GOOD series to bring the network back on track. Actually, this is the first time I heard that there WAS even going to be a new season of Oh Yeah Cartoons. And if you think this doesn't represent a small ray of hope, Remember, Fairly Oddparents and Teenage Robot came from What A Cartoon.

You mean, Oh Yeah! Cartoons. What A Cartoon was CN show.

Again, what specifically didn't you like about it? It's fine not to like it, but we can't read your mind. And it's much more interesting to read specifics than vague comments like "this is low".

well yeah, but i really can't say why this is low (i don't want to get in trouble again)

Are you racist or something? I'm pointing your quote "I don't want to get in troube again".

Probably so.

i don't believe it. they are showing this and they took invader zim off because they thought it was too "gothic."
A little too "black", right? And, no, I'm not putting words in your mouth; I'm simply instigating conversation. Sure, you can take out your frustration towards Nick on this special, but that will never bring Zim back.

Nevertheless, I could think of four reasons and about two intelligent ways to phrase them why this is an "all new low" for Nickelodeon.

One: like Cartoon Network, Nick is trying to tap into big talent (sorry, not big enough, Cyma) to create for them an original production (it just so happens that this time, the music sucked).

Two: instead of insuring that they had a quality product, Nick just slapped a special on that they thought kids would watch... don't even mind all of the stereotypes the program has in it (it was even worse than The Proud Family, which is a godsend when compared), and how unoriginal it is.

Three: instead of having confidence in their obviously inferior (and seemingly rushed) product, Nick backed off when they heard their "rival" Cartoon Network would be airing the mega-supreme Codename: Kids Next Door special.

Four: the designs were absolutely horrendous; worse than any special I've seen on Nick.

How the Wayans brothers keep getting work, especially for cartoons? Does no-one remember 'Little Man'!?

And don't think that I haven't seen an episode of Thugaboo yet. It wasn't as bad as I thought it was, but it's still maybe a 4/10. Basically, if terrorists forced me to watch it at gunpoint, I'd tolerate it, but not otherwise.

I have another theory as for why Johnny Bravo is neglected by CN nowadays. Putting aside the basic concept, it's the retools that made the show chaotic.
