Thinking about Deep Discount

When I looked at those yesterday, X3 was listed at a higher price, but the thing to keep in mind is DDD offer the "lowest total on-line price" and since the Amazon DVDs aren't expensive enough to charge shipping, they come out almost even when you add that.

I had to order Gundam Seed Destiny Volume 4 from Amazon since Deep doesn't have it, that plus X3 gave me free shipping.

I'm not in a giant hurry to get the Seed Destiny discs since I'm still watching previous volumes, but the reason they didn't have it of course is they sold out of there initial shipment. This is the second time I have noticed this happen with this title. It happened with Vol.1 when it came out. They sold out of their initial order in pre-order form first. Now I see it with Vol. 4 that they sold out of their initial order with pre-orders. I wonder how many cases/copies they order for their first runs. It seems like this is a hot item that they need to order a bigger first shipment. And they definately beat Amazon.com in price.

I'll probably wait and pick up Vol. 4 in November when their 20% discount extravaganza starts. Besides, Vol. 5 will be out that last Tuesday in November as well.

It's been 11 calendar days since the release date. At least they haven't charged my card yet. What's the usual turnaround on a Free Shipping pre-order?

that happened to me with BSG season 2.5, but they got it out within 2 weeks of the release date. you can contact them and cancel in this case if you want.

I'd say so --- and that's another thing, kaine23: once you've ordered from them, they'll email you about any deals they have on, including the special order code for when they have their 20%-off sale.

And it's true that DDD (or, DD now, I suppose) is generally slow; but back when the box set of the SE Star Wars IV-VI Trilogy came out, I actually received mine from DeepDiscount on the Saturday before the set OFFICIALLY released and hit shelves that following Tuesday --- so every once in a while, DD will surprise you.

Honestly, the website's design and the way they market it do make it look seedy, at least to me. But I do use it anyway.

i started using deepdiscount last fall, no probs whatsoever. my free shipping has been quite speedy.

to date i've ordered the complete Twilight Zone, all the looney tune golden collect sets, all my MST3K sets, as well as taking advantage of their BOGO deals (bought Dilbert-Critic and both seasons of Tripping the Rift at 2-for-1 deals). and their 30% events rock. that's how i've stocked up on my most expensive colections
