Well, I've never used Deep Discount DVD to order DVDs before. I was just wondering how their services are.
  1. I know they have free shipping, so, is it reliable?
  2. The prices are really cheap, and that's good. Do the DVDs arrive at your door in good condition?
  3. Do they take debit?
Any and all answers are appreciated.

Reliable but slow. Took about a week and a half from order date to get to me.

Yup, they arrive in good condition.

Do they take debit?

DeepDiscountDVD.com accepts credit card transactions only. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express. DeepDiscountDVD.com does not accept check or money orders.

Assuming your Debit card acts like a credit card, you should be OK. But I don't have a debit card so I can't really answer that.

Yeah, if your debit card has a Visa/Mastercard/whatever logo on it, you're good to go.

I've ordered from Deep Discount DVD many times and have never once had a problem. The shipping is slow, but the "free" part more than compensates.

how reliable is it to use a debit card online?

it seems too risky :/ more than using a credit card.

Yeah, Deep discount dvd rocks. I buy all my dvd's from them, and they have free shipping. But, with the free shipping comes a long waittttt. About a week or less, depending on the date you order. They come in good condition, and they are reliable.

Hope that answers your questions:)

I don't know of any online retailer that accepts debit cards. Just credit. Most online retailers, at least the reliable ones, have loads of secerity on their site, so useing your card is safe.

Personally I've never had a problem with DeepDiscount. I've got Alias Season 4 coming from them next week. They usually have the best prices.

Most debit cards -- for the past 10 years or so? -- can be used as credit cards.

Oh and if you're going to give them a try, be sure to wait for their big 20% off sale which I expect sometime next month.

I buy almost all my DVDs on-line and I've gone to DeepDiscount every time except once (Amazon was cheaper and I bought a book too that gave me free shipping). Only had one slight issue with something being out of stock right when the shipped it, and then I didn't get it. I called them up when it seemed it wasn't coming and they sent it right out to me.

Thanks for the answers, guys.

The debit card I'm talking about is a Visa, so I think I'm good. I'm also okay with waiting for items to come to my door, so that's not a problem. And, I'll wait for their sale next month before trying to order anything. By the time the items get to me, it'll likely be near Christmas.

After all, their prices either equal or beat the competition, so why not go for it? And, by that time, I'll probably have over a hundred dollars to blow on DVDs (and books, I suppose).

Yeah, I don't do that very often, as you probably can imply.

How do you figure that?
if something bad were to happen and someone gets your account they can take all the money from your account and it'd be gone while a credit card it'd be easier you won't loose as much money since its not really "there" already.

Their slightly cheaper prices are not worth the horribly slow shipping. I ordered the firefly complete series set in anticipation for Serenity, and it took 10 days to get to my house. I had two days to watch the entire series before I was planning on seeing the movie. Also, they don't give you a tracking number with the free shipping, so you have no idea when your item will be arriving. Unless a DVD set is SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper at Deep Discount, order from somewhere else. Any website with a good rating on Pricegrabber or Reseller Ratings will be safe to order from.

All other sites that have free shipping options that I have ordered from always arrive in a timely manner WITH a tracking number. I understand that with free shipping you must be a little patient, but 10 days is unacceptable. I will however be ordering from them when the 20% sale comes along, because even with slow shipping 20% off is awesome.

I always use my debit card whenever I can, but I also check my bank account every day and look out for any transactions I may not recognize.

Yes. When I said debit card I was refering to those without the Visa/Mastercard logos on them. They're rare, but I still see someone with one every now and again.

I've not ordered from the Internet very much, but I'm willing to wait weeks for a package... it's not like the end of the world if it comes later than 10 days... it's not that serious to me. As long as they get to my house before Christmas, and in good condition; but, I'm not worried. And, as you say, the 20% off is a bonus... I could fit so many more DVDs onto this year's roster with that kind of percentage off.

And, here, my sister was telling me to buy clothes. The audacity!

It's much more safer than, say... handing it to the waitress at a restaurant.

Anybody know when their 20% sale usually runs? Last year I think it was mid/late November, but I don't quite remember. And then I think they hold another sale in July. Thanks in advance. Just trying to plan ahead ;)

Oh, and all my experiences with DDD have been quite good. I haven't ordered that much, but everything's arrived in good shape. I made a return once and had no problems (just needs to be unopened & within 30 days). The shipping could be quicker but it's free.

I usually order from them, and they're certainly reliable. Yes, I select the "Free" option. You certainly get what you pay for (shipping being kinda slow, but the item is in new condition). I look forward to the 20% discount.

You've pretty much got it right, but the November sale actually happens more like in mid-November.

Home Movies season 3, here I come. ^_^

Actually, I've been ordering from DDD for years now, and their semi-annual 20% off sales generally come in late June and again in late November (not really mid November). I'd expect to hear something no earlier than November 18th or 19th. They do usually give you a full 9 to 10 days, as opposed to just one literal week.

Their last summer sale actually began on a Thursday afternoon and then ran all the way through that weekend and the following week. So perhaps another early start on a Thursday or Friday might be in the cards, thus my prediction of the 18th or 19th. The only flaw in that might be that they decide to wait until after Thanksgiving, which would push them into a late, late November start and actually finish in the first week of December. That wouldn't be out of the question.

But the bottom line is that the sale is worth waiting on! The deals just cannot be beat!

Gary "my DDD wishlist is packed full of stuff right now in hopes they do indeed run another sale - which is not 100% guaranteed, btw" O.

Everyone applause these two characters, for soon getting their own spin-off full animated series!!! (who would have expected a series with PB and Marceline anyway? I know they have an upcoming comic book series which will go well with)

Watched Toy Story 5 today. It felt like another awesome escapade for the characters, while also they taught an important lesson: it's ok to be different, especially if you still like to play with toys. Lily turned from an antagonist to a hero of the movie, because of realising exactly that.
