"The Loud House" is Getting a Movie

Deadline has reported the movie has been pulled from the February 2020 release date.
I recall how there were long hiatuses during production of the first two SpongeBob movies (at least 7-11 months). The fact that the Loud House hasn't had any hiatuses longer than 2-3 months gives a sign that the movie wouldn't happen.

Plus, Michael Rubiner would've had to split duties between showrunning The Loud House, Los Casagrandes, and the movie, which would be rather hectic for the show staff. Maybe we could get a movie 3-4 years down the line, but not now.

I think Paramount leaped before they looked when announcing the Loud House and Henry Danger movies. Both seem to have been postponed indefinitely (Jace said in a recent interview that he hasn't heard much about the HD movie, but it still wants one).

Maybe when work on Season 4 of TLH and Season 1 of Casagrandes is both finished, then the crew could work on the movie.

Well that sucks. I was actually kind of looking forward to seeing the Loud House movie (even though I have a problem with how generic and predictable the show's becoming). Then again, given the lack of news and the fact that the staff didn't even know what was going on I can't really say that I'm surprised. I just hope that it gets postponed or something, though I'm not getting my hopes up.

"On hold" is not the same as cancelled. Spongebob 3 was placed on hold, multiple times and now has a set date. The movie could still happen someday.

Honestly, I felt they announced a movie too early into the show's run. But Spongebob got a movie somewhere between season 2 and 3, so I guess we'll have to see.

Yeah I don't think it's not happening I think they needed way more time,I'm glad they aren't rushing. Announcing when the show barely 1 years old then a spinoff seemed like a lot.

According to the THR:

"Insiders say newly-installed Nickelodeon president Brian Robbins — who has a close relationship with Paramount, where he headed up Paramount Players — is in the process of evaluating the various film projects in the works."

Maybe they will show it as a TV movie instead of putting it in theaters.

The more I look at and watch this show (and have overall mixed/meh feelings about it...) I don't know, honestly - I do know, however, I would actually prefer if there was no talk of a movie until some more seasons pass (preferrably this show being in its 5th season, not its 3rd.). I don't feel this show has earned it all that much, from what I've watched and revisited of it, so far.

Again, maybe if this show were in its 5th season or past that and actually consistently good (which I don't feel it is in that case either, honestly.). Oh I wouldn't worry too much; even if this put on hold NOW, as long as the ratings are there to justify it, it'll happen someday - even if it ain't happening right at this moment.

One thing's for sure here: it makes me smile aplenty to see some people are informed on the difference between "legit cancelled" AND "put on hold for now", which the latter is clearly happening to see if the ratings success really can be capitalized on that this show otherwise is showing itself to be (even if I don't agree with it, myself.).

Other than that, glad you guys are keeping it together (especially those of you who love the heck outta this show, unlike me!), unlike most of the internet about this - maybe if this show can continue to really prove itself, having an actual movie would feel definitely earned. Just not this early in its run, IMHO.

Smart move, releasing it on Netflix would definitely prevent a box-office bomb on account of there's no box-office to release it too.
Inevitably it would also avoid it from becoming Nick's equivalent of the PPG movie that led to CN divesting from the big screen.

So the film didn’t get cancelled, just moved to Netflix. That’s all right with me. It’s interesting to see what other animated shows and movies will be moved on to the platform.

And Since Netflix can pretty much say whatever numbers they want they can be more abstract about how it does compared to a theater.

It might so be released here. We already have a limited catalog of Nick shows on Netflix including old SpongeBob and Avatar.

Kinda hoping for a theatrical release, but Netflix is fine. I bet the animation will be upgraded if the budget allows it.

Here's a fun article I wrote on why Ruby and Jade from Sofia The First are good characters.
Okay hear me out, Isn't it kind of crazy how CN never thought about doing a Kids Next Door x Teen Titans OG crossover back in the 2000s? There's five members of Sector V, five titans, and they both have super cool HQs. I'm telling you guys, a TT and KND crossover would've been so epic!
Watched the live-action "Moana" today and felt nothing that special compared to the original 2016 film. In fact, I don't remember much from the first animated film, but I think they barely changed anything in the 2026 version
