Remember the Kanon anime? Well, that anime franchise apparently suffered from the One Work, Many Dubs trope in North America. According to the I Miss Bionix website, as well as the Behind the Voice actors forums, a dub of the Toei Kanon anime was done with the voice cast based in Toronto, but ended up being unreleased.
When Houston-based ADV Films licensed the second Kanon anime, they used their own in-house cast, instead of hiring back the Toronto cast to reprise their roles from the dub of the Toei Kanon anime. This was apparently because ADV Films didn't realize that a dub for the Toei Kanon anime was already produced. Had they realized that, ADV Films would outsource the dub of the second Kanon anime to Toronto. What do you think?

Is that Joan Cusack voicing Jessie in that Toy Story Papa John's commercial? If so, it sounds rough. Woundn't surprise me if it wasn't, though.
