Have you tried connecting a wire to the router and seeing if the problem persists? That can tell if the problem is with your wireless controller.

I don't have a cable I can directly connect to. After I posted my message, I used Mozilla Firefox instead of Internet explorer to download files. I successfully downloaded a batch. Of course I go an try and do that again a few minutes ago, and I get the same stalling problem on the Firefox browser.

Computer network diagnostics says "The connection between your access point, router, or cable modem, and the internet is broken." Last ran this a few minutes ago and the problem wasn't found. No doubt everything will be fine and no errors will be detected if I run it again with no attempt to download something.

After 4+ years it looks like my PC's Blu-ray burner drive is dying out. Just getting it to recognize BD discs is a challenge now. Does anyone have recommendations for a replacement?

So I'm trying to watch something on my video players (Windows and VLC), and all I get is the audio, no video.

Has anyone else have this happen to them? And how to fix it?

Could be an outdated flash player, or maybe a silverlight problem for windows. I usually don't have VLC troubles unless I've altered the video settings recently. Have you installed any updates recently?

Is is a specific file doing this, or everything you play?

Can't get Google Books to show me pages in Safari and Chrome on my iPhone. Did I put something on in Settings?

I have no sound on my computer. Worked fine earlier, now it's not working. I have an Asus laptop with Windows 8.1. I don't know processor, ram, or anything else. So if someone has an idea, but needs that kind of info, tell me how to look it up on my computer. Thanks.

My desktop computer started making a noise just a few days ago. I've gone in and looked, and it appears my graphics card fan is the culprit making the noise. I don't know what's causing it.

I did a google search and the recommendations were "replace the fan" (which I don't feel confident about doing) and "update your computer drivers". How do I go about updating my drivers? And is there free updating or am I going to need to buy something?

Fan replacement shouldn't be so bad, but it depends on your video card model and just how comfortable you feel doing it, but it is cheaper than a full-on replacement card. If the PC is still under warranty, just contact the company and they will do a replacement for free.

Driver update likely won't fix it (especially if the fan is making a bad noise), but it doesn't hurt to update just in case. Easiest way to do this is to visit your card maker's site and download. To get your card make/model, click on the Windows/Start button and just type in the following and hit enter:

If Windows prompts to check if your drivers are signed you can click Yes or No. It doesn't matter for this operation. Click on the Display tab in this window and it will list your card. Just look in the Name field for it.

Go to the vendor's site NVIDIA or AMD will be the likely options, especially if it is making a fan noise. An Intel video card driver can be updated in a similar way would be on the motherboard and that's just a whole different problem/concern at that point as far as noise goes, but still ease to replace any on-board fans.

Well, I did some research, and I have a "Radeon" graphics card. I did a search and my computer tells me I have the most recent updated version of the drivers.

So....it's looking more and more like I would need to replace the fan. Any suggestions on where to buy a fan?

What browser are people using? I've been troubleshooting Firefox 54 and it hates TZ.

So much lag from the text box appearing, giving people a rating, editing a post, inserting a link, 10-20 second lag with post appearing, etc.

I use Firefox as well and TZ has been a box of hurt with the browser forever now. I just assumed it was whatever junk the back-end forum software was doing was coded only optimally in Chrome, which seems way faster, but I'm not a Chrome fan at all. It's easier to just post stuff on Tapatalk on mobile, but that can't handle all the forum's features (especially media embeds in posts that aren't YouTube) despite being the "official" app of the forum.

No-Script Suit Lite and uBlock add-ons have made it a decent trip to TZ now. Ad-Block Plus was eating up too much and slowing down things.

Didn't go with Noscript yet, but you weren't kidding about uBlock (Origin). I'd been an ABP stalwart forever now, but the difference is night and day in loading speed on the site. I'd been having gripes about ABP lately anyways, so it was time to try the alternative anyways. Thanks.

Anyone had problems with Gmail on their laptop? When I logged on today, it created a mega lag and froze up my Firefox then my laptop. Took Task Manager forever to end it.

But on my phone, Gmail works fine.
