So far, The Batman has battled men, how will his strategy change when his opponent is a woman...

The Batman #6 - The Cat and the Bat
Original Airdate - October 2nd, 2004

The Batman plays a game of cat-and-mouse with cat burglar Selina Kyle, after Catwoman steals his utility belt and gains control of the Batmobile.

Man, if it weren't for the ugly looking googles, Catwoman might look kind of cool. Selena's design looks cool though when she doesn't have glasses on or that pony tail.

Funny to see her doing all this stuff without knowing it, but... you would think Bruce would have had more belts just incase.

I give it a 3/5.

Heh, pretty good. Some funny moments, a solid plot, and as usual good action. Thankfully there were that too many bad lines.

I liked Selina's design, it's different.

A little better than the previous episodes. The dialogue was at least passable most of the time, and the action scenes were good. Catwoman's meowing is incredibly corny, though. I mean, you don't see Batman trying to screech. Also, the plot was still kind of thin.

I'll give it a very generous 3.5/5.

I liked this one the best at of all the episodes so far. The plot was pretty good and the action was nice especially the team up with Catwomen and Batman at the end. The Batmobile chase was cool too. I give it 4.5 stars:)

So, It's official, THE Batman is all about THE gadgets....

I mean THE ENTIRE PLOT REVOLVED AROUND GADGETS!!!! So, Catwoman took off Batman's utility belt, so Batman gadgets cause havoc in the batcave, so Batman has to stop his car from smashing Gotham streets....  I can't roll my eyes enough!!!!

Utter crap!Waste of paper, of colors, of technology and an insult to the batman name!!!!

The so wanted to pull off the classic bat and the cat working together but their scheme fell flat! Why?!Oh why on earth would batman save catwoman?!??!!!!She just stole his belt, and was trying to steal...trying to commit a crime!!!Sure the other...gang or whatever were dangerous...but batman, instead of making sure SHE gave back the statue...was HELPNG HER ESCAPE!!!!!!!!!!!!   :ack:

That aside, Selina's design was a delight! I never liked the BTAS selina...this ones way better...But if all this catwoman is here to do is mess with bat-toys...then I'd rather not have her!

That's your job, right?

<<Oh why on earth would batman save catwoman?!??>>

Err, because the ninjas were going to KILL her. Even if Batman was mad, he wouldnt leave her to die. She's a thief... not a killer. Geez, I'd complain if Batman LEFT her.

All in all, a pretty good outing. It lost me a bit in the middle with the bat-gadgets.

And it woulda been better if Catwoman didn't announce stealing the utility belt. I woulda rather her be tricky about it, and then have Bats notice after she left.

Yeah...I'm not saying Batman should have left her to die...he was just...TOO friendly...

*zips in and circles around everyone just to annoy Barry Allen*

ok. I saw The Batman. This was a very werid episode, like a cat playing with a mouse type of plot.

Anyways from what I saw Catwoman did look alright, not as cool as she did in the orignal BTAS not that freaky design on New BAS but I'd give her a chance.

But why did she steal Bat's belt for, seems kind of a cheezy silly episode I have it 3 out of 5 stars

I liked last weeks episode better, this episode seemed to try to establish the catwoman is both a thief, some one that batman must stop, as well as an ally. The problem I have is how they did it, after stealing bat’s belt, almost killing him with his own batbot (albeit by accident), forcing him to chase after his own car, and then stealing the statue (or trying to anyway) he just lets her go, shouldn’t he catch or at the very least chase after this master thief. I also found catwoman very corny with her meows and purring. I don’t know I just didn’t like this episode too much. It did have some good moments though, I did enjoy watching batman chase after his own car, and I thought the remote control batarang was kind of cool. It wasn’t that bad so I give it 3 ½ stars

....

The dialogue is a groan fest. I mean how many times can Selina make a cat joke? How many one liners can you cram into an episode?

Leave the witty remarks and dry humor to 007 and Peter Parker, please.

It was alright, save for the contrived subplot about Batman's gadgets going amok. I mean, even if he's still a rookie, he should have some sort of override device to prevent this from happening...

(And I know that we shouldn't -- God forbid -- compare to the DCAU, but it took Lex Luthor half an episode to get through Batman's belt security in Injustice for All, and Catwoman goes ahead and does it here in, like, two minutes? Oy...he is green.)

What I did like is the Catwoman / Batman quasi-romantic elements. Unlike with most of the BTAS rogues, this creative team has a chance to do a better Catwoman, since Selina Kyle's hands were tied for most of BTAS (too many damsel-in-destress plots). Utilizing Gina Gershon as the voice actor is a smart move, as anyone who is familar with the actress knows that she just drips sex. However, I didn't like the typical, "well, she didn't get the statue and she helped us get the minidisk to take down the Yakuza, so she goes free at the end" bit. She's still a cat burglar; Bruce shouldn't let her off so easy (of course, Catwoman should get away, but Bats should put up a fight).

Final Note: Is it just me, or did the crime boss look quite a bit like R'as Al Ghul? It appears that they're having fun with the "no-using-movie-characters" rule.

so, i think i am starting to get what the bat-wave is.

Great episode. Would've gotten a 5, but too many cat puns dropped the score down by .5 (and I still feel like taking more off). You can't go wrong with ninjas.(Un)fortunately, I don't think we're getting any new The Batmans next week (I read they'd be showing the Penguin episode again instead for incomprehensible reasons), but at least the League and Titans are back in business.

**** stars!

This is the best episode yet! I really liked the interaction between Catwoman & Batman! I'm not crazy about Catwoman's costume. The ears looked way to big (more like a mouse than a cat) and the pink was ok.

Well, it looks like The Batman is getting better as it goes.:) I hope it keeps getting better!

Okay, some of the fight scenes were cool. Batman should have put a better security lock on his bat-toys, Selina Kyle looked HOT, I didn't like Catwoman's goofy tail, the puns were pretty bad, Alfred's joke at the end was kind of cute.

Very cool depiction of Catwoman! In fact the best, better than any in the BTAS or TNBA IMO and certainly better than that Halle Berry Earthaomage girl-power mess.

I'm sure the BTAS snobs will find a way to slice this one up as well but this Catwoman is the best yet to me.

The good:

-FINALLY a Catwoman/Selina Kyle with LONG BLACK HAIR:D! First BTAS is forced to use the Michelle Phieffer blonde version(probably via movie cross promotion) with an old school comic book costume THEN on TNBA they give her this Natalie Imbruglia short brunette do with a hideous light blue face:eek: that just collectively SSSSSUUUUCCCKED:mad: Tender Vittles and to this day is THE worst Catwoman design I have ever seen in my life, comics, cartoon, live-action or otherwise! I'm still haunted by the TNBA Catwoman design to this day, it was repugnant and I don't care what abstract art school you hail from. I wasn't thrilled with Selina's characterization on BTAS or TNBA either. I honestly want to know badly what "b.t." and co were thinking that they thought that the TNBA Catwoman design had ANY appeal whatsoever or who the hell told them that looked good when they initially designed it:eek:?

The Batman finally decided to take a more current comic book approach and it worked in spades for Catwoman AND me. Loved the goggles, the sleekness and of course the long black hair and a great redemption for the worst character design in the history of comic book animation TNBA's Catwoman!

-Gina Gershon is SATURATED with sexuality and Catwoman/Selina Kyle is the role she was clearly born to voice if not play on the big screen. PERFECT casting and she performed it letter perfect only enhancing the experience.

-The vehicles and gadgets are cool and detailed and very well done. The Batman's Batcycle was far better than the bland unappealing ones of the original BTAS.

I have very little bad to say about this ep so I won't. One question I do have for all these The Batman contrived naysayers and bitter BTAS snobs, if Glen Murakami and Alan Burnett are driving forces behind this series how bad and disrespectful did you think this series was going to be to "b.t." and the fans? OF COURSE they would try as hard as possible to do it justice with the astronomical pressure from the slightly overpraised and pretentious BTAS and it's legions of fans waiting to pounce and harp on every lil misstep they do!

I've seen ALL four episodes and they've all been pretty cool, the Joker being the weakest one and The Catwoman being the strongest and NONE less than three stars from me. "Cat and the Bat" I gave a 5, and I don't give many 5's!

Watched the live-action "Moana" today and felt nothing that special compared to the original 2016 film. In fact, I don't remember much from the first animated film, but I think they barely changed anything in the 2026 version
@Sam the Cartoonist is right, I've registered on this site two times and I've enjoyed it! :) I'd posted this back in 2016, over ten years ago!
