It's the Fourth of July celebration of the year...in October!

Episode #33 - Revolution
Original Airdate - October 16th, 2004

The Titans Fourth of July festivities are cut short when Mad Mod crashes the party, declaring the American Revolution a hoax and reclaiming the city for Jolly Old England. If that wasn't enough, old Mod uses his high-tech cane to steal Robin's youth, making "King Moddie" young again, while Robin turns into a withered, dried-up old man.

Surprised, Toonami faithful?

Thanks to a neat little hack, the Toonami board now mirrors the DCAU talkbacks. As Toonami is the world premiere for Teen Titans and Justice League Unlimited, and both World's Finest and The X Bridge are part of the Toonami Inner Circle Alliance, this is the official talkback thread for both boards.

Well... they've been that way, but now you can come here straight from the Toonami board.

Who wants to bet Raven uses only "Azarth Metrion Zinthos?"

(I don't mind hearing it once an ep, but gets aggravating when more than 1, but would still be ridiclous after last week's ep with her learning more spells)

ALSO, who wants to bet this is this season's goofy episode so the production crew can blow some steam?

I kinda figured that, although I kept forgeting to ask if that was the reason or not-

-But why? Before when SVES was going, the CN board AND this one both had threads, and this one would STILL go on for pages. The JL threads would get as long as 10-20 pages back then as well as they've done now.

Because there is no need for multiple Talkbacks. Bringing everyone together is better for the marketplace of ideas.

Also, to everyone, please refrain from posting at least until the show actually starts. The DCAF folks kindly decided to open up their Talkbacks during when the show airs instead of keeping it closed until afterwards so let's not push things. This thread is intended for discussion of the episode and because it has not aired yet there currently isn't anything to discuss.

wasn't Crash goofy enough? :( also going by the description I can tell this is going to be a real winner

I assume Rabi didn't see my post since our two posts were only a minute a part, but once again, please don't post here at least until the episode starts. (And if someone does post during the episode, please make sure it is something substantial, i.e. not just a one line comment.)

Love Beast Boy's history lesson there. Back of a cereal box was great. Amazing how well Beast Boy/Cyborg/Raven bounce off each other.

And the return of Mad Mod! Sweet! Plus the Japanese opening.

This is looking to be even better than the first Mad Mod episode, which is STILL one of the best in the show's run. His return was way overdue. I kinda wish they saved the TT music video airing until now, though...

"Your revolution will not be televised." was that just a toonami reference?

FINALLY, we get the japanese intro song this season.

And in the ep dealing with America and the British. Fabulous.

They're called biscuits!

The British flag as the sky. Genius. Monty Python reference to boot! (Need a killer rabbit though.)

Just like Justice League, the Teen Titans are nothing without their non-superpowered, god-like, martial artist Caped Crusader...

They can say 'Limie' on Toonami?

It's God from Monty Python and the Holy Grail! I never thought I'd actually see THAT specific parody nowadays. There's too many MP references to count! Now if only Cyborg would throw the Holy Hand Grenade, I could die happy.

Well, not die, per say, as I wanna see Gundam Zeta and the rest of SEED, but you know what I mean, right? RIGHT!?

And another Scooby-ish chase scene. We need a Mad Mod episode every season...

...I'm assuming that must be some sort of bad word in British-English?

...DC & Monty Python....

Did NOT see that one coming....

Just how many Monty Python references are in this episode? So far I've noticed "How to avoid being seen" (from And Now For Something Completely Different), "Run Away" (from MP and the Holy Grail), and the animation where Mad Mod appeared above the clouds. I bet there is more as well. So far this definitely lives up the greatness of the first Mad Mod episode. I'm really liking the backgrounds and such as well.

*yawn*

I'm sorry, but British jokes can't carry a whole episode. Pretty boring so far. And this is coming from someone who thought the first Mad Mod episode was absolutely hilarious.

NOW I know why they aired this episode now, to get people to VOTE! Of course! *smacks head*

The moral of the story: Vote or the British will take over the USA.

No, the phrase is from the Gil Scott poem.

I always thought it was kinda on the same level as the 'n-word', guinea, etc.

Watched the live-action "Moana" today and felt nothing that special compared to the original 2016 film. In fact, I don't remember much from the first animated film, but I think they barely changed anything in the 2026 version
@Sam the Cartoonist is right, I've registered on this site two times and I've enjoyed it! :) I'd posted this back in 2016, over ten years ago!
