An all-new episode of Teen Titans Go! airs tonight at 6:00pm (ET) on Cartoon Network!
Teen Titans Go! "Squash & Stretch" airs Thursday, January 7th, 2016 on Cartoon Network
The Titans learn about cartoon-style violence in order to get revenge on a snack-stealing squirrel.
It's funny because Gumball also had a Road Runner parody that had to do with deconstructing cartoon violence (along with censorship).
Eh. the episode could have been better. The (puppet) animation ironically doesn't "Squash and Stretch" well enough to really capture the feeling, unlike Clarence's "Goldfish Follies". I did like most of their Popeye-eqse designs though (Cyborg was perfect; Starfire was very odd looking with Ravan looking bland). The humor was pretty decent when it came to the Titans' attempts to catching that squirrel.
I love this show. So much. Them beating up Robin, the Looney Tunes shtick, the anime bit, Beast Boy being a prey to some bird as a snake. So many great funny moments.
Well this was funny, I am glad they mention the hunter never wins, even when the pray is the clear villain. Though I wish stop with the whole self awareness about the old show.
I thought this was a pretty hilarious episode. Prior to the changes in style, I agree that the gang punching Robin to prove violence is funny was a great gag. A little mean-spirited, but I liked it. The old-school silly cartoon violence scenes were probably the highlight of the entire episode, they had some pretty creative gags though the outcome was obvious, like they said the hunter never catches the prey. The change to the more anime-inspired designs was surprising but still fun. The best gag there was probably them crying thinking they killed the squirrel. The final gag was predictable but the episode overall was fun.
