Rest in peace, Turner. You were such a legendary person.
We'll never forget you.

Will this mean mgm will get its pre-1986 stuff back?

Dude. Not the place.

Anyways, without him, there'd be no Cartoon Network. No Regular Show, Ben 10, Teen Titans, Looney Tunes Show... the animation world owes a lot to him. Rest easy.

The pre-86 MGM catalog is already in the hands of Warner Bros., so it’s too late for that.

Anyway, say what you want about Ted Turner, like how he shredded the original MGM to pieces by keeping the pre-1986 catalog (Wizard of Oz, Tom & Jerry, Ben-Hur, Singin' in the Rain, etc.) while selling the old MGM film lot in Culver City to Lorimar (who then sold said lot to Sony Pictures) and making the current MGM basically the original United Artists but in a different coat (something that film historians would hate), but without him, we would never have gotten a 24/7 news channel (CNN) nor a 24/7 cartoon channel (Cartoon Network, including [adult swim]), the city of Atlanta wouldn’t have become a major hub for media and sports, and the American Bison would’ve been driven to extinction without him. Many of the film libraries he owned (MGM, WB, RKO) would’ve also been left sitting in the celluloid dustbin, unrestored, without Ted.

I may have said before on here, but the metro Atlanta area is my home, and I’ve always been a big fan of Atlanta sports (including the Falcons, Braves, and Hawks). I intended the World Series parade in 2021 when the Braves won it all. 2001 is when I first discovered Cartoon Network. I’ve also visited the CNN center and Cartoon Network store multiple times over the years.

Ted Turner had a major impact on my childhood and my home city Atlanta as a whole especially for the business side of things, sports, and television as a whole. Without him more than likely I never create a ToonZone account. Rest In Peace Ted Turner, thank you so much for the major impact you had on me.

Without Ted Turner, Cartoon Network would never have existed, the present-day iteration of Warner Bros. Discovery wouldn't be nearly as interesting, and I simply wouldn't have been nearly as epic. May he thusly rest in peace.

I'm not at liberty to talk about CNN though, since this forum isn't supposed to be political.

RIP to Ted Turner. thanks for all the memories with cartoon network not sure were a lot of people would be without it...

RIP Ted Turner and he was one to create the Cartoon Network. He will be missed.

I just see him as the king of cable TV. Hail to Cable TV.

His death has nothing with merger & acquisition that have been closed 40 years ago, so as for your answer, no.

People's death have nothing with M&A.

Cartoon Network has really helped me cope with some dark times this year.
Starting to be active on the forums again since this is one of the few places I can have informed, good-faith discussion about cartoons.
The Voyo-exclusive Romanian dub of Garfield and Friends goes on with the second season now being relased. I was afraid they will forget about the show after only one season.

As someone who's Portuguese, it just bugs me again that we lost. I wanted Portugal to win this time because this is Ronaldo's last, but no, we think Ronaldo has devolved significantly, and we lost against Spain.
Fowler's Sonic the Hedgehog > Bay's  Transformers. There, I said it.
