TALKBACK - Mighty Magiswords - Episodes 25-31 [7/3-7/9]

Hideous Hound immediate thoughts-

Ren Hoek, what are you doing here?

Hideous Hound: Yeah, I have to agree with Vambre and her brain on this. That was one ugly dog. It didn't help that Prohyas was practically trying to force her to like it.

Before I forget...

They See Me Trollbin' (Mid High Tier) -
It's nothing I didn't see coming, honestly; yeah - it is a relief the Trollblins admitted they thought they weren't invading a town and whatnot (making them misunderstood dumb giants, but dumb giants nonetheless, unfortunately.). While everything was competently executed here, in terms of the synopsis and also what I'm used to by now with this show, what we got here ain't anything special, either, IMHO.

Also - that bunny's gonna kill someone eventually... I don't blame him - a certain someone needs to stop stealing from him, thank you very much!

Hideous Hound (Mid High Tier) - The first time they did this setup, it was rather predictable, and only made Prohyas look like a rather weak character (overall) in my eyes. And I know Prohyas is a better character than this; he may be a goof, but he ain't an idiot - which is what that episode with that plant Magisword made him out to be, which pretty much sucked IMHO.

So, for once - Prohyas befriending something ugly doesn't lead to something bad happening because of him... very good work, albeit nothing spectacular - this time it was Vambre's fault because she lets someone or something's looks get the better of her. It's nice she came around in the end, but like I said, just like the episode before it, what we've got going on here for this effort is nothing truly groundbreaking, honestly.

Other than that, I enjoyed seeing Prohyas being in the right, because he is a lot smarter than the goof he is usually portrayed as next to Vambre (at least when her brain isn't having a mind of its own to make her do dumb things (like what happened here!), herself!), anyway.

Biblia is the most hardcore librarian of all TIME!

Getting Ahead (God Tier) - I don't need to say too much about this one... It was the absolute best of these premieres.
While a tried and true setup, the execution was damn good.

+ Even if they weren't getting much of anywhere, I had to admire how much fun Vambre was having with the whole detective setup.

+ The missing head gag with Omnibus (thanks in part to Prohyas just doing his part to not let Vambre get to out of control, which she otherwise did, unfortunately) is one of the funniest this show has employed, IMHO, due to how simple, but creatively handled it is in its execution.

+ It was nice to see that no side was purely in the right for what they did to bring about all of this, as well - Yeah, Biblia and her gorilla were wrong to steal Omnibus' head (and needed to be confronted for it!), but Prohyas' words for Omnibus were dead-on that he wasn't in the right, either - meaning he deserved what happened to him and I hope the Warriors were well paid for going so far out of their way like this. I'm talking lawyer - type money, if you want my opinion on how well the Warriors should be paid this time around!

We may have stumbled a little with previous episodes before this, but this was a reminder that this show still knows how to bring me some proper action/comedy (pacing issues aside and slowly, but surely being taken care of!) - and I couldn't be more pleased with that. Here's hoping the next batch can keep this up, although some of those synopses released today (7/10/17) don't look too promising, IMHO.

Here's how I rank the Warriors' recurring customers:

1.Zange: Generally fair, sometimes testing the Warriors to see if their worthy of their official warrior status.

2.Fud: Abso-LUTE-ly straight forward customer, get some food, no catch.

3.Mysterious Hooded Woman: Generally straight forward, but lower on the list as past jobs she's sent he warriors on were stealing sunglasses and evicting a dragon.

4.Witchy Simone: Great friend and supporting character-BUT-if your working FOR her...your also working WITH her, and her lack of focus in her use of magic can get dangerous. Doing better, but still.

5.Omnibus: Dude can't knock a stinking door, OR call on the Magimobile, and sometimes as shown in getting ahead the job he wants is saving his own skin.

And finally(and we all saw this coming)

6.Old Man Oldman: Evil? No. Annoying, OH yes(in a funny way). The guy for the past season has constantly bugged the Warriors to do menial tasks despite MULTIPLE TIMES saying that they aren't oddjob workers(while I'm sitting here WISHING I'd get some oddjobs). Also even worse than Omnibus, has put the Warriors in direct danger due to his own feeble mind, once by having them walk a baby dinosaur(the mere existance of such a creature in Lysheria being illegal) and one time wearing an evil wig because they made his house look silly-DESPITE-them technically completing the job.

Okay hear me out, Isn't it kind of crazy how CN never thought about doing a Kids Next Door x Teen Titans OG crossover back in the 2000s? There's five members of Sector V, five titans, and they both have super cool HQs. I'm telling you guys, a TT and KND crossover would've been so epic!
Watched the live-action "Moana" today and felt nothing that special compared to the original 2016 film. In fact, I don't remember much from the first animated film, but I think they barely changed anything in the 2026 version
@Sam the Cartoonist is right, I've registered on this site two times and I've enjoyed it! :) I'd posted this back in 2016, over ten years ago!
