Pretty good start.

"Fix That Tape". Interesting set-up with Pops watching lost tapes with memories he doesn't remember. I presume we haven't seen the last of him and the dubious guy wanting to replace tapes with streaming. This really bridges the two series together.

"Skips' Luau". This was funnier I thought, and closer to old random Regular Show. Some pretty good gags in there like the various wheeled modes of transportation, or the hovercraft plans, plus some classic music too.

All in all this was fun and I look forward to more.

This was the first new episode of any CN show I've seen live since 2018. I really enjoyed the first episode, hope everything else is just as good! Btw, I didn't realize CN doesn't use the new episode screen bug anymore!

Licensed '80s music, ratings pushing innuendos...oh yeah, Regular Show is so back.

Aside from the marginally stiffer/tweened animation at times and Mark Hamill's voice, it's like it never missed a beat. I was a bit weary when a Regular Show sequel series was announced, but I'm glad to see my fears were quelled. Makes me want to watch the original series again (which cynically plays right into David Zaslav's/David Ellison's/whoever's hands).

I loved pretty much all the episodes, caught 'em all live, which was fun. I like how they balanced the later season's storylines/characters with the early season's laid-back 'slacker' antics. Some episodes felt ripped straight out of Seasons 1-3 in the pacing and vibe! But yeah, I agree...it's a shame that the animation has taken a noticeable hit. I think it's less that it's tweened and more-so Snipple's involvment has bottlenecked Saerom's paper layout pipeline leading to stiffer in-betweening since both studios are most definitely in-betweening in software. Snipple doing purely digital segments leads to Saerom matching their output and it has sorta gutted alot of the "raw" charm the original run had.

I'm pretty Snipple isn't involved with this show at all. It's all Saerom.

They changed their animation style and more or less ditched pure hand-drawn animation somewhere in the early 2020s. You can already notice it in later(ish) episodes of Craig of the Creek, Jessica's Big Little World, Craig Before the Creek, We Baby Bears and Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake, all of which Saerom had involvement in.

Per sources that worked close to the project and industry credits, Snipple is involved but their role is likely sub-contracted. (Similar to Wang Film's work on Season 5 of PnF through Snipple.)

I enjoyed all the episodes so far. Feels like the old show, but with more expressive drawings (seasons 4-8 were really on-model, so it's jarring to see cartoony faces).

It looks like Nap Spot is the earliest set in the Regular Show canon after First Day. Coffee Shop Wars is obviously between seasons 2-4 (Eileen didn't appear until season 2 and Margaret left the shop after season 4) and I think Blade Games and Skips' Luau are set during season 3.

I have to say that this might be the best of the revivals CN has had so far.
Gumball's revival is just average. Adventure Time has been a mixed bag of a revival on HBO Max (Distant Lands varied in quality while Fionna & Cake had a great first season, but season 2 was kinda boring, IMO). Regular Show was a pretty great transition from OG series to The Lost Tapes.

Also, it feels SO REFRESHING to watch premieres of CN original shows on Cartoon Network again--on a weekday afternoon and not just Saturday morning. Also not a streaming service or shoved to Adult Swim just because daytime CN was afraid of the TV-PG rating for whatever reason.

Blade Games. Benson's failed attempts to motivate Mordecai & Rigby were pretty fun. The crazy blade swinging gang appearing was a nice touch. Benson's "crying" at the end was kind of predictable, but still entertaining overall.

Nap Spot. The dreamscape stuff was neat. Also kind of interesting seeing Mordecai & Rigby's earlier days working at the park and their first interactions with Muscle Man.

Coffee Shop Wars. Nice spotlight for Eileen & Margaret. The all-out food fight with the godesses was pretty fun.

Okay hear me out, Isn't it kind of crazy how CN never thought about doing a Kids Next Door x Teen Titans OG crossover back in the 2000s? There's five members of Sector V, five titans, and they both have super cool HQs. I'm telling you guys, a TT and KND crossover would've been so epic!
Watched the live-action "Moana" today and felt nothing that special compared to the original 2016 film. In fact, I don't remember much from the first animated film, but I think they barely changed anything in the 2026 version
@Sam the Cartoonist is right, I've registered on this site two times and I've enjoyed it! :) I'd posted this back in 2016, over ten years ago!
