TALKBACK - Adventure Time - "Stakes" *MINISERIES* - [11/16 - 11/19]

The new Stakes episodes were all awesome/enjoyable, more Marceline, yaaaaaaaaay,

Major focus on my awesome Marceline along with Princess Bubblegum/Peppermint Butler, sweet.

So love the cute chemistries of Princess Bubblegum/Marceline, so cute, hehehe.

Marceline wanting to be human, interesting/sweet.

The histories/backstories on Marceline was sweet, nice to see Marceline's hot mother.

Both Vampire King, The Fool, Hierophant, The Empress, and The Moon(has a lot of legs, freaky/cool) were my favorite awesome new vampire villains with awesome freaky designs.

Marcy/Simon(The Ice King)'s tragic backstory was so great/sad, the poor guys to get separated.

Finn, Jake, Princess Bubblegum, and Peppermint Butler being awesome going vampire-busting, hehehe.

Marceline the vampire hunter, awesome.

Seeing more of my awesome/funny Ice King and his chemistry with Marceline was sweet.

Nice seeing my two horrible awful dirtbags The King of Ooo/Lumpy Space Princess while enjoying their well-deserved bashings, hehehe, love it with Princess Bubblegum drop kicking the creep, sweet payback, go Princess Bubblegum.

Nice seeing Crunchy, he's a great candy character.

Nice seeing Simon/Betty, poor Betty will be saved from going crazy/psycho mode.

Vampire King developing, getting cured, and turning good becoming a lion was sweet, I still love it when certain cool villains turn good.

The final boss fight with the vampire cloud monster was awesome.

The Ice King's speech to Marceline was sweet.

The candy people being awesome finally betraying the Phony King of Ooo and the King of Ooo's satisfying defeat from Crunchy's awesomeness, scumbag got what he deserved, hahahahaha.

Marceline defeating the vampire cloud monster becoming a vampire was epic.

Nice seeing my awesome Flame Princess, too bad she had small focus, rats.

Sweet with Marceline being a vampire and Princess Bubblegum becoming ruler of the Candy Kingdom, yaaaaaaay, a nice touch for Princess Bubblegum to get her ruler title back with the King of Ooo defeated in the Stakes miniseries arc.

Stakes was an awesome enjoyable miniseries arc with sweet action/good histories.


I'm happy Root Beer Guy is resurrected for him/Cherry Cream Soda to have a happy ending.

OFF: I guess since now all the episodes have aired this is the best time to mention the leaks?

It probably doesn't matter since they're low quality anyways, but from what I've seen, it does show Turner's servers do have a problem since there's a large number of stuff getting thrown onto the Internet days/weeks before release. So far, Adventure Time and We Bare Bears seem to be the worst offenders.

I probably shouldn't go any further, should I?

I really enjoyed this mini-series. A good focus on Marceline, with more of her backstory revealed and some pretty awesome moments. I liked how they balanced the more emotional stuff with action and the goofy humor this show is known for. Great character interactions too, most notably between Marceline and pretty much every other character, good or bad, she shared scenes with in these episodes. The vampires she had to defeat were pretty cool and had some great designs. The final fight with the Dark Cloud was pretty awesome.

Also, neat way to include Finn & Jake and even the Ice King into the story, without it really feeling forced. Finn & Jake provided some decent scenes as well, mostly due to Jake's fear of vampires. And I wasn't expecting the King of Ooo story-line to be addressed here, or for it to end like that. Pretty good stuff.

All in all, a great mini-series and I'm glad this was made. Very entertaining stuff.

This was the best material Adventure Time has ever cranked out. It reminded me why I fell in love with the show in the first place. The classic goofy humor coupled with the dark action material is the sort of mixture this show thrives off of. I really don't think we're going to get anything of this sort of caliber from the show again, tbh.

Once again it seemed like the build-up was more exciting than the pay-off (facing off against the final threat) which is something Adventure Time is notorious for, but all of the other vampire battles were so great that they completely made up for it.

Adventure Time and Regular Show have really been making some comebacks lately after they both dipped in quality. I think AT had a more significant dip, but either way, I'm extremely happy to see them both making their way back to the top.

What a lot of stuff to discuss:
-I find it strange that the Vampire King is NOT the title for Marceline's father. If Marceline's the Queen, how does the vampire hierarchy work?
-I feel kind of sorry for the Hierophant. He just seemed so confused about the world he was resurrected in.
-Crunchy is a Butt Monkey of the highest order. Didn't expect him to toss the King of Ooo into a fireplace (so is the King made of butter or something?)
-There's also other questions I have:
1. Why did Bubblegum give the VK's essence to a clearly incapacitated Peppermint Butler?
2. Why did Flame Princess send a giant fireball to the cloud monster when half the Candy Kingdom's population was still there?
3. What the heck happened to Hot Dog Princess' knights? How did they become octopi?

At the end of the day, though, I enjoyed these episodes.

1 - Hunson Abadeer is not a vampire, just a regular ol' demon. Marcy is the Queen cuz she got bitten when the kind died, making her the heiress.

2 - PepBut said he could do it and Bonnie trusted him.

3 - FP just got a message from Flambo who saw the beat from really far away. They both didn't know there were candy peeps inside.

4 - You know when you heat hot dogs in the microwave/pot too long and they burst? That's what happened.

Really.....I did not know that (that one person wrote both of them, I mean).
I have never understood the lyrics to that song. What are they talking about?

No clue, I just remember it from a Family Guy joke. I have always wondered what the phrase "drop-kick your jacket" could possibly mean.

I just find it funny and kind of perfect that they choose those songs to make the connection between AT-world and the real world.

I just finished watching an encore of the whole thing. This was really entertaining. It kind of sucks that everything went back to normal though. But the adventure was fun all the same.
