This week...
When there’s a deadly space emergency in the farthest reaches of the galaxy, there’s only one hero to call, and it’s probably not BMO. Except that this time it is!

I am very much surprised no one is talking about this by now. I thought it was great!

Blame HBO Max. That service is not catching on in the discussion community. Blame the price, or the ongoing disputes with Roku and Amazon, or the fact that it builds on HBO, a network which was a non-entity in post-preschool animation until now, or the simple fact that it isn't Netflix.

I do however have HBO Max this month, and thought the show was a worthy expansion of the AT universe.

it was really good
I find BMO annoying but this was saved mostly thanks to the character of wi-fi

Enjoyed the special, interesting to see BMO in outer space was disappointed why there were none of the other Adventure Time characters in the show but then I found out it was for a good reason. It was a good side story alongside the show's main story.

As for BMO being the only Adventure Time character from the main series, it all made sense at the end, BMO crash lands on Ooo/Earth in front of a young Finn and Jake, implying that the events in the special was between when BMO was made at the MO Factory and when BMO becomes friends with Finn and Jake.

Well I didn’t know what to expect from Distant Lands. Watching BMO with Y5, it’s a bit more sci fi than most Adventure Time episodes I’ve seen, and the focus on Y5 the new rabbit character makes it feel different from Adventure Time but still lives up to the series. It shows how Adventure Time is still ripe for world expansion and that theoretically they can continue the franchise but still keep it fresh by adding new lore and new main characters similar to Star Wars. I actually would be interested in a mini series with the rabbits as watching BMO reminded me a bit of Infinity Train.

So, we are already on the right track with this series with how BMO and his backstory was handled, but my real issue is how they're going to handle Finn and Jake - the FACT that they didn't get effective closure in the original series finale like they should have, after looking at it again (IMHO) has me a bit weary about what's in store for them, honestly.

I almost want to see a show based on Y5, as she has potential to be a great MC in her own right. That way, this series can still continue, while not completely dragging back everyone we know, but instead focusing on new characters like Y5 who can breathe new life into what's here.

I really liked the special. Young Finn and Jake was so cute. 8.5/10

For some reason I laughed so hard when Football just randomly showed up in the middle pf the special. Almost like the awkward brand of humor from this showwas missing up until that point.
