Modern Sonic dashes off, followed by the good natured mute Classic Sonic popping up whilst Tails back is turned, happily sprinting off himself once Tails tells him to get going.

It's a simple bit of humour but something that resonates with this fanboy.

The game is out in a few days and leaks are springing up everywhere. Just a heads up, guys.

But that soundtrack.... *drool* That's going to be hard to resist.

I've pretty much spoiled the majority of the game for myself. Curse my impatience. Still, watching the game in action and actually playing it are two totally different things.

Same here, now that I think about it. I've spoiled a bunch of levels and cutscenes for myself, and the whole soundtrack too.

Though the 3DS version is still mostly a mystery to me, but every time they reveal a level for that version I'm disappointed. Really wished they had done portable games for that.

No kidding. For a supposed "celebration of levels from Sonic's handheld history", there sure are a lot of levels from console games (i.e. ALL OF THEM). That, and over half of them are first levels from their respective games. Utterly laughable.

Finally tried the demo and I'm surprised how much I like the Modern gameplay. The Classic take is a fun update of an old friend but the modern take really pushes things to make it a Green Hill you've never experienced before. I particularly enjoyed the

giant shark Badnik as a throw back to the whale from Adventure, especially the fake out when it nearly eats you.

It just seems to capture the sense of fun and wonder which I think has been kind of missing in the games from about SA2 onwards.

Now it's just a shame I've probably missed my chance to nab the Collector's Edition
