A new rumor about Sony working on a Silver Sable film:

http://www.comicbookmovie.com/spide...-sable-movie-with-the-invisible-woman-a142903

This could be the female superhero film they've been working on. I think this is a great idea, and could beat Black Widow solo to screen.

Sony is apparently developing a Silver Sable and Black Cat spinoff movie.

Chris Yost (Thor) is developing a script based on a treatment by Lisa Joy (Westworld)

Y'know, as someone who would ordinarily be super-pumped for seeing Silver Sable and Black Cat in live-action, I'm starting to feel like Sony hasn't learned anything from their failures with the Amazing Spider-Man movies .

I'm sure we'll hear about Sony pushing for that Sinister Six movie any day now...

So the Black Cat/Silver Sable film may also aim for a 2018 date? Geez, they're really cramming them in.

I think 2018 is when they're filming Black Cat and Silver Sable. Cause Venom has a release date for Oct 5, 2018.

Wow, they're actually going through with this.

Well..I hope it's good.

I instantly fancasted Sanaa Lathan as Black Cat because of the director. Not sure about Sable.

Wait - wha...so Venom and Silver & Black both release in October 2018. Smells fishy to me. But I hope the deal includes them being able to share characters. Not having Black Cat in the MCU would be a bummer. Sable, eh...

Yeah, me thinks they just put that date in there as a placeholder. Venom will have that Oct 2018 date. Sable and Cat will probably be pushed to 2019 or beyond once they coordinate with Marvel.

3/25: Everything Sony does with these spinoffs is going to feel fishy to me until we actually get trailers and production going, and even then...

3/28: Rumored plot details for he movie:

“Here are some details about the story: Seven years after Mendel Stromm (a.k.a. Robot Master) and his two henchmen (The Scorpion and The Tarantula) killed her father, Silver Sable is hired by the government to find Felicia Hardy. The Black Cat, a master hacker and thief, has apparently stolen valuable secret information. She’s hiding in the lawless and dangerous triple frontier area between Paraguay, Argentina and Brazil.

Once there, Sable ask her old contact Dmitri Smerdyakov (a.k.a. The Chameleon) to locate her. But it seems, the government are not the only ones looking for the Black Cat. It seems Felicia had made a deal Stromm to save her father from a Russian prison and she’s been genetically enhanced. Now, the mad scientist wants his prized experiment back because his financier (cough Norman Osborn cough) wants a return on his investment.

There’s no appearance or mention of Peter Parker or Spider-Man.

Also in the story: Dominic Fortune, Jessica Drew (Spider-Woman), Roxxon Oil, Sergei Kravinoff (Kraven the Hunter), Lonnie Lincoln (Tombstone) and Charles Standish.”

Dominic Fortune was supposed to be portrayed by Delroy Lindo in ABC's Marvel's Most Wanted. Roxxon has been in the MCU.

Makes me question that rumor.

Their trying to shove all these disparate Spider-Man characters into one spinoff movie makes me question (or hope against) these rumors .

So far 2018 will have 7 CBM's (if you don't include Incredibles 2 or Animated Spider-Man) in theaters.

-Black Panther
-Avengers: Infinity War
-New Mutants
-Antman & The Wasp
-Deadpool 2
-X-Men: Dark Phoenix
-Aquaman

That's alot to swallow folks.

That's not including Venom which is also suppose to be coming out next year so yeah 10 super hero movies in some form or another. 8 of which are based on Marvel characters. Guess we'll see just how many actually really do happen but all at least have... some promise honestly.

Not so much Silver and Cable. I admit I haven't seen all of Gina Prince Bythewood's filmography but I was one of the few people who saw Beyond the Lights which was one of those movies whose most interesting premise was thrown out for a generic by the numbers romance. And she also wrote Before I Falll which... was not very good at all. So don't have enough confidence with her for this upcoming project. And yeah those rumors seem kind of bunk on what the plot is but the sad part is that it seems enough like a Sony plot that there is a shred of credibality to it which doesn't say much for Sony and their need to rush so many ideas into one story. Seriously I don't know why we need of all things a Silver Sable and Black Cat team up movie (were they even much of a team in the comics at all?) but if there is one I'd hope there wouldn't be so many supplimentary nods or references to like every corner of Spidey's world just because Sony has the rights to the character's mythos.

I legitimately don't think Black Cat and Silver Sable have ever been in the same comic together, let alone had any interaction with each other on-panel .

Yeah, I'm not so sure on that writeup synopsis. Though Sony did claim they were going to do a Silver Sable film once before, and had some names attached like director Steve McQueen and screenwriter Abi Morgan. So, if true and they finally decided on this Silver & Black, then so be it.

... Now I know how George Jetson feels like on that treadmill.

Is that Joan Cusack voicing Jessie in that Toy Story Papa John's commercial? If so, it sounds rough. Woundn't surprise me if it wasn't, though.
