Should Adult Swim decrease its schedule?

They need to remove themselves from Friday and Saturday night. CN should use Friday night for old school cartoons like from back in the day(old Hanna-Barbera), and Saturday should be Toonami Midnight Run. I'd be happy with that.

Except you know CN wouldn't do that if they got those nights back. It would be more reruns of Chowder, Flapjack, Johnny Test etc. CN wasn't doing much with Friday nights before AS got it anyway.

Yeah, I know. AS gripes that ain't nobody watching their stuff on those nights anyway, so they may as well do some experimentation.

If anything I think they should get rid of Inuyasha-they've overplayed it to death.
They should cut back one hour.

I'd put it on hold, but return it later.

But since Inuyasha has done well compared to other animes, I'm wonder why they haven't tried some of Rumiko's other animes (Okay Ranma 1/2 might be too riske for AS, but Maison Ikkoku could work).

Because they're too old, unfortunately :( . CN seems to have this thing against old anime.

To riske? This is adult swim, at least that's what the title says. A few pixels and it's good to go.

I bet it wouldn't be as expensive as the next hyped up anime because it's older and would get some ratings thangs to an existing american fandom.

But they could work, being that they are written by the creator of Inuyasha and hyped up as so.

Hell, I see ranma 1/2 fitting in scarily well. For no reason other than it's sexual content is in places as over the top as [AS]'s violence(my cousin phil, anaytime someone throws something on ATHF).

AS has already said no to Ranma 1/2 and as much as I like to see Maison Ikkoku on TV, its a niche title.

How popular is Bleach?

But, why? Personally, I think it'd of been a good move to start airing Ranma as soon as Inuyasha ended it's run to grab the attention of fans who'll be missing IY. Who knows, it could of been a hit.

why would they want to decrease their schedule? the sales people want to sell their advertising time at the higher [adult swim] rate, rather than the cheaper Cartoon Network rate.

Years back. People keep asking them to air it, and they say no.

Why, because of sexual content? Fooly Cooly was probably the most sexually-charged show on AS-why won't they show Ranma 1/2?

Because they probably don't want to. The reason why FLCL and Cowboy Bebop have stayed for so long is because WS likes playing favorites.

That and they do get decent ratings

I've only read the 1st volume of Ranma 1/2, so I don't understand why it would be too inapropiate for [AS] (though I can take a guess how), but it didn't seem like a good fit for them in the first place

What happened to Shin Chan? AS Saturday nights stink without Shin Chan-that's the only reason I watch AS Saturday nights.

Maison Ikkoku is a wonderful animated soap opera, a deft mix of romantic melodrama and comedy, featuring characters that grew on me very quickly. It's a great adult-level story. I've seen it only in sub, though, so I don't know how good the dubbed version is. But the sub version is an excellent series.

Yes, the art style is a bit dated, especially for the male characters, but SciFi has shown that old-school stuff can still attract viewers. It's also talky and slow-moving in spots. No sword fights, no gunfights, no life-or-death martial arts battles. And no fanservice to speak of. It's just an excellent romantic comedy.

Then again, romantic comedy in general doesn't seem to do well with the 18-24 male viewers that [AS] is so desperate to get. From what I've read, romantic comedy does fairly well with the 25-34 males and with 18-34 females, but it appears to me that [AS] has pretty much abandoned those segments of the young-adult demo.
