I do not know if I told you guys this before, but I believe this has something to do with Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL finishing its complete run as soon as possible. In order for that arc/show to continue airing new episodes, Vortexx would have to remove Sonic X and change Bolts & Blip to 8 AM. As a result, new ZEXAL episodes could air at 8:30 AM and ZEXAL repeats at 11:30 AM.

That wouldn't make Zexal finish its run as soon as possible. They would still be only airing one new episode a week, so that wouldn't get Zexal to its conclusion any sooner. I can't really see them giving Zexal a repeat slot at this point either. If they were interested in doing so, they would have done that a long time ago and stayed with it, rather than giving people only one chance to watch each episode on the block.

Hm. Looks like most of the full episodes on the Vortexx website have vanished. In fact, none of the on-site videos are watchable. Only the Yu-Gi-Oh! series and Cubix can be watched, and both are Hulu embeds (even Sonic X, also a Hulu embed, has been wiped).

...I sure hope this means they are updating the site but I doubt it.

Vortexx keeps getting pushed into the corner!

Did you guys forget that Vortexx uses a different set of rights?

And even if it does cause DBZ to leave that will mean that Vortexx will be forced to get n new programming. Which is a GOOD thing!

I'd be fine if DBZ Kai did leave the lineup. If it would just be airing more reruns, it wouldn't be worthwhile. Besides that, I don't think that they'd want to air a show that's also available on a block aimed at teenagers/young adults. While this hopefully does give the Vortexx another slot to provide something new to the lineup, I still would have preferred if it Toonami didn't pick up that show. It is so overexposed at this point.

Well, actually, this isn't the first time a Saban block had a show that was on a network aimed an older demographic at the same time it was on their kids block... remember The Tick? That ran on Comedy Central, a network that's aimed at an even older audience than adult swim/Toonami and it even aired near the ever-so-controversial South Park on said network. Regardless, it didn't leave Fox Kids even while on Comedy Central, and that was when Saturday mornings reached a much wider audience. I don't think this is going to be that big a problem. Besides, I think there was another time that adult swim ran a show then airing on a kids block, but I can't really remember what, or I may just be confusing myself.

Well, Samurai Jack has aired on both the new Toonami and Boomerang at the same time, and Star Wars: Clone Wars aired on [as] for a short time while still airing on CN proper.

True, and I think Voltron and Popeye were once on [as] and Boomerang at the same time. Now, there's some debate over whether or not Boom is really a "kids network", but I remember CN being reluctant to let as/Toonami air Samurai Jack due to its presence on Boom.

With Toonami premiering DBZ Kai in the fall, this leads me to believe that they snatched it up as soon as Saban's rights expired. When they acquired the block, Saban paid Toei a "cure cost" of $429,000. Looks like that was for a 2-year extension that has run out.

I think there IS going to be a kid friendly version of DBZKai:The Final Chapters. I really do hope its not Vortexx's because then people in the UK are going to be pissed over Blue Popo...

You know, thinking about this, I kinda have to wonder why the contract with Dragon Ball Kai had not been extended with Saban for the Vortexx. It seems like an odd thing to do, considering the show had done rather well for the network, while we were getting in the individual ratings for the shows for a bit. The only thing I think is setting off a red flag with me, is the fact Saban does not seem to be promoting the Vortexx brand at Licensing Expo. If it's the case of Saban dropping support of the block and just planning to honor the remainder of the contract, then perhaps it was the parties best interest were to seek another network to broadcast the show on, even if it meant shifting audience.

Of course, we'll find out what exactly they're planning to do with the block come closer to the Fall season, but I'm a bit concerned there.

Going on, it is curious why Dragon Ball Kai ended on Nicktoons, unless FUNimation, Toei and the Network had a falling out of sorts (or simply the Network did not wish to renew the contract, which happens), as it definitely had done well for the network. However, on the flip side, Nicktoons (and Nickelodeon for that matter) broadcast history with their acquired content (and to a lesser extent, their own shows for that matter) has always been an oddity, so I guess it shouldn't be any surprise the show had been shafted, especially given it's taking almost two years for Monsuno to rap up Season 2 in the United States. Original Digimon has also been removed, as well, with no push to seemingly go onto the later seasons. So there's that too...

Why should he promote a block on a Licensing Expo? I never understood that. Its a USA only block.

It's basically to show interest to investors who would like to promote their content on the block.

I think the block is doing fine and its going to keep airing DBZKai. And even if it does stop airing they will get new shows. No Biggie.

Okay hear me out, Isn't it kind of crazy how CN never thought about doing a Kids Next Door x Teen Titans OG crossover back in the 2000s? There's five members of Sector V, five titans, and they both have super cool HQs. I'm telling you guys, a TT and KND crossover would've been so epic!
Watched the live-action "Moana" today and felt nothing that special compared to the original 2016 film. In fact, I don't remember much from the first animated film, but I think they barely changed anything in the 2026 version
@Sam the Cartoonist is right, I've registered on this site two times and I've enjoyed it! :) I'd posted this back in 2016, over ten years ago!
