It saddens me to tell you that Ruth Buzzi just passed on yesterday.

She certainly was a great comedian when it came to providing cartoon voices like Suzie Kabloozie on Sesame Street, Wendy on Sheep in the Big City, Nose Marie on Pound Puppies, and others.

Speaking of Sesame Street, she played Ruthie (like Bob McGrath played Bob), owner of a shop called Finders Keepers. She was on from seasons 25-32, even after they dropped the shop from the set.

She even sang a song about buzzards in Walt Disney Productions' 1969 animated short film It's Tough to Be a Bird. "When the buzzards return to Hinckley Ridge..."

She even reprised her role of Gladys in the rather bizarre Saturday morning cartoon Baggy Pants and The Nitwits, in which she and Tyrone had superpowers (Tyrone could use his cane to fly, among other things) and fought criminals.

On a related note, on Sid and Marty Krofft's The Lost Saucer (which can be seen on both the Cineverse app, and Tubi as of this post), besides her role as one of the two robots (the other one was played by Jim Nabors), in one episode, she and Jim played the robots' creators. The one Ruth played dressed and acted exactly like Gladys. She also played Gladys in a Sesame Street segment where the Cookie Monster bugged her about cookies.

She also had voice roles in animated series.

Ruth Buzzi was also part of the short lived program Whatever Turns You on who was a spinoff of You Can't Do that on Television in 1979.

Not only that, but it seemed as though Tyrone finally put a ring on it between the end of Laugh-In and the debut of Nitwits.

Ruth's voice acting extended to commercials, as I think she alternated with June Foray as Granny Goodwitch in those Sugar Crisp ads.

Last night started watching a new adult animated series, a Netflix original that is basically the succesor to Big Mouth.

What is so great? Despite being a 18+ show, they actually bothered to give it a Romanian dub :ack::eek:
