Great Ice Dragon
(Here goes nothing!)
Rule the World: Dragon Strike
This is an alternate version of the world we know. At this time, dragons have existed alongside humans since the dawn of time. They have been in wars as both enemies and allies. These creatures have sharp intellect for animals. Some even seem to understand the spoken languages of humans. They have very hard scales, and wings. The rarer breeds have unique qualities to them, like poison and the ability to breathe fire. Humanity is now in the age of gunpowder, so anti-air assaults from ships and land are a necessity. Likewise, aerial battles with men armed with guns and sword clash in one of the most dangerous forms of combat. Recently, there have been increased tensions between countries, and the world might be on the brink of war!!!
CURRENT POLITICAL MAP
At this point, I don't believe I need to set the template for sign ups, but just in case:
NAME:
GOVERNMENT:
DRAGON RELATIONS:
RESOURCES:
HAPPINESS:
DRAGONS/BONUSES:
Governments:
Monarchy - This is your typical government of this era, since this is the norm, people are used to this. Your rule is divine, and undisputed.
+2 Resources +2 Happiness
Dictatorship - This is total rule. Nobody but you has the say in what goes on. This makes things very productive, but your people are very unhappy.
+3 Resources +1 Happiness
Democracy - People have the choice. While you may have the power, anything your people don't agree with can easily be revoked. Watch out for going against their demands.
+1 Resources +3 Happiness
Dragon Relations:
Companions - Your people view dragons as loyal companions, while not totally free, they aren't exactly under harsh oppression either. This is what your average county is. They will use what they have, and get more if need be, but wild dragons are frowned upon.
+2 to war rolls +2 Happiness
Sacred Creatures - Your people view the dragons as more than mere animals. The dragons enjoy total peace and harmony, so wild dragons will be more likely to help you out. This leads to a lack in military strength, but has unusual benefits.
+1 to war rolls +3 Happiness
Beasts of War - To your people, dragons are nothing more than simple animals. All dragons are forced to be part of wars, and any wild dragons are killed on sight. While your military may become strong, there may be reprecussions.
+3 to war rolls +1 Happiness
The Dragons:
So here's my little spin on RTW. If enough people don't like this, it will be eliminated. While you do have dragons, they are living creates. Every 5-10 turns, you will need to find some way to insert new blood into your military's dragons, elsewise new offspring will be weak and frail.
Scouts - Scouting dragons are small and light. They are not that effective in battle, but will allow you to detect enemies, and wild dragons. 10 resources. Gives chance to find out about oncoming attacks.
Heavy Class Fighters - GIANT dragons. These were meant for nothing but war. They can be slow, but can take a hit and deliver a lot more back. 15 resources. Adds +1 to all war rolls.
Venomous - These dragons can bite. They have large fangs that have deadly poison. They are very effective against other dragons. 25 resources. Adds +3 to all war rolls.
Fire Breathing - The dragons of myth. Hardly any have been known to exist. There has been a rise in population recently though. They are effective against both dragons, and pretty much everything else. 30 resources. Adds +5 to all war rolls.
Now don't think that these are the only kinds out there! You'll just have to trade and explore......
Bonuses:
Anti-Air Navy - Upgrade your ships with capable defenses against dragons! 20 resources. Adds +3 to war rolls when defending coastal territory.
Trade Connections - Your people have exceptional trading skills. It will be much easier to bargain with others. 25 resources. Will slowly increase/decrease resources gains per turn over time.
Dragon Proffesionals - Well, pretty much the ultimate group of people you could get for everything about dragons. Need equipment? They have it. Need expert training? They have it. There's nothing they can't do with dragons. 30 resources. Adds +1 to war rolls, and player is no longer required to update dragon blood lines.
Fireproof Cities - You want you citizens to feel safe, right? These houses will be able to resist even the stongest of dragonfires......we hope. 8 resources. Adds +2 happiness per turn.
Advanced Farming methods - Get your farmers to start being eco friendly and use all that dragon dung just hanging around! Yea......for furtilizer. It works wonders. 10 resources. Adds + 1 resources per turn.
Coinage - A unified money system will make it much easier to get trade flowing, just don't let children or dragons eat the small metal coins. 20 resources. Adds +3 resources per turn.
Dragon Homes - Instead of nesting in the great wild, you can have some of these to make your dragons feel relaxed, or optimise them to increase a militaristic attitude. 25 resources. Either adds +5 happiness per turn, or +3 to war rolls.
Other Notes:
Now as you may have noticed, China is already colored. They will be an NPC, yes, but they will be there mostly for good trade. I promise you, NPC's will only be on the map for trade. They only fight if you attack them, and they will not take over your territory. If they sucessfully oust you out of their country if you attack them, they will close trade to you forever.
I think that's it for now.......Let's hope it runs smoothly!
