Rock Band Talkback (Spoilers)

Here is the latest DLC for the week of February 5, 2008.

Individual Tracks for $1.99 Each(160 Microsoft Points for Xbox 360)

"Roam" by the B-52's
"We Care A Lot" by Faith No More
"Calling Dr. Love" by Kiss

You have to at least commend Harmonix for making a large variety of DLC available to download. This is also one of the very few weeks that doesn't contain any covers.

I'd be very interested in seeing the sales figures for covers versus original masters when it comes to DLC. Maybe it's just me, but covers are something I put up with when it's part of a package deal-- I can't see myself ever plunking down extra money for them, even if I really like the song. In fact, the more I like the original song, the more a cover bothers me because I notice the niggling differences that make it inferior to the original version all the more.

Completely disagree. Multiplayer on RB blows GH3 out of the water; it isn't even close.

DLC on GH3 is practically non-existant, which for a game overloaded on a certain genre isn't such a good thing. RB DLC is cheaper, as well, and you don't have to buy packs if you don't want to.

After getting to play around with the character customization options in Rock Band, it's really hard to go back to the static characters in GH3.

No incredibly lame "boss" battles in RB should give it an instant win, anyhow.

Having someone singing and drumming doesn't vastly improve the experience, and Rock Band somehow managed to have worse note charts than Guitar Hero III.

Have you done it? Nothing on Guitar Hero III multiplayer even comes close to a full group playing at one time in Rock Band. It's immensely fun.

As far as the note charts go, Rock Band's might be somewhat easier, but I'm not sure if you can count all of Guitar Hero III's scales and solos with its sloppy HOPO system.

Considering that playing the drums and singing is more fun than playing the guitar, I'd say it does improve the experience. :p

I grew tired of Guitar Hero's adding notes just to add difficulty a while ago. Not to say it still isn't fun, but I enjoy Rock Band's attempt at atmosphere far more.

Yeah, I've done both RB and GHIII multiplayer. Rock Band is more fun, but I just don't how people get away with saying it's "amazing" when it's essentially GH on steriods.

So? Guitar Hero was nothing more than Guitar Freaks with two extra fret buttons and a better set list, and its three sequels added even less to the equation. That didn't stop any of them from being great games. Rock Band IS amazing, no question about it.

The new pack everyone on the net is unjustly whining about:

This week's DLC for $1.99 per song (160 Microsoft Points)

"Complete Control" by The Clash (master)
"Truth Hits Everybody" by The Police (master)
"Teenage Lobotomy" by The Ramones (master)

These songs can also be bought in a 3-song pack for $5.49 (440 Microsoft points)

2 of the best songs by The Clash and The Ramones isn't good enough, I guess.

Huge info was just "cracked" from DLC code. Apparently the indexing file (or whatever it's called) revealed some new songs coming out. It's not official, but it's all but confirmed.

By the way, the artist names were NOT in the file, so this is the best guess based on the most likely choices.

These are all the songs in the file:

***** COMPLETELY NEW SONGS *****

Simple Man - Lynrd Skynrd
Supernaut - Black Sabbath

Shooting Star - Bad Company

They also had all the songs in the starting setlist, but I figure it's best to not repost them.

Wow, if even part of that list ends up as DLC, I would be satisfied. I'm mostly a fan of the artists that come on the disc, but I was hoping they would try to go for some new artists. I'm glad to see Blur's Beetlebum and Weezer's El Scorcho among the potential candidates, although I don't know why they would list Pinball Wizard instead of other songs from Who's Next.

They all sound like reasonable choices for Rock Band, but I can't believe Still Alive was named in that file. It can't be a lie.

So apparently, team X-box posted this:

Last week The Clash, this week Weezer! HMX just keeps on giving!

I'd say this more or less confirms that 'leak' posted before.

Stone Temple Pilots—“Sex Type Thing”
Weezer—“El Scorcho”
Garbage—“Why Do You Love Me”

Finally, a set of three songs I love!

*Insert Portal remark here*

Still Alive has officially been confirmed as DLC for Rock Band. It was previewed at a GDC Valve party with guys from Harmonix and Jonathan Coulton himself. I'm pretty excited.

YAY! :D

Awesome, this opens the doors for more game-related songs in the future.

Well, if there was any doubt left before, this has put an end to that.

Rock Band > Guitar Hero III (or IV, or Aerocrap, etc...). Officially.

Here's a clip from X-Box.com (for those who can't find it or whatever)

The clip's not very long, but the song looks fun. :)

I might have to get this game now that Still Alive is coming to it.

Wow. That looks even more amazing than I had hoped. It's hard to overstate my satisfaction. :D

As for the various leaks that showed a Nine Inch Nails Pack coming in March, Harmonix shook things up in their DLC announcement for February 26, 2008. While it unfortunately doesn't contain Still Alive, it proves those song leaks to be true once more.

Nine Inch Nails Pack
Nine Inch Nails – “March of the Pigs” (master)
Nine Inch Nails – “The Collector” (master)
Nine Inch Nails – “The Perfect Drug” (master)

3-Pack for $5.49 or Individual Tracks for $1.99 Each
(160 Microsoft Points per track and 440 per pack for Xbox 360)

These are going to be really great drum songs. I can't wait to pick this one up, glad to see more NIN in Rock Band.

And for this week we have:

Grateful Dead Pack (all songs by the Grateful Dead)

“China Cat Sunflower” (Master)
“Casey Jones” (Master)
“Sugar Magnolia” (Master)
“Truckin" (Master)
“Franklin’s Tower” (Master)
“I Need A Miracle” (Master)

All songs can be bought individually for $1.99 (160 Microsoft Points) or the whole pack can be purchased for $9.99 (800 Microsoft Points).

Finally, we have more than 3 songs!

Watched the live-action "Moana" today and felt nothing that special compared to the original 2016 film. In fact, I don't remember much from the first animated film, but I think they barely changed anything in the 2026 version
@Sam the Cartoonist is right, I've registered on this site two times and I've enjoyed it! :) I'd posted this back in 2016, over ten years ago!
