RIP Miguel Ferrer, age 61

Miguel Ferrer, best known for films such as Robocop and the TV shows Twin Peaks & NCIS: Los Angeles has passed away from his battle with throat cancer: http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/ne...e=twitter&utm_source=t.co&utm_medium=referral

He was also a well known voice actor, taking such roles as Shan Yu in Mulan, Martian Manhunter in Justice League: New Frontier, and Vandal Savage in Young Justice (among many other cartoon roles, he had too long a list to mention!). Trekkies would recognize him as a member of the bridge crew that let Kirk get away in The Search for Spock.

Did you know he was also George Clooney's cousin? His mother was legendary singer Rosemary Clooney. He will be missed, since he was one of those actors you got used to seeing in everything.

When I was a kid, I'd always see him playing some mean scumbag like in Robocop, so I couldn't stand him. When I became a teenager, I appreciated him more as a character actor and I was also paying more attention to the names attached to the voices I liked and he was one of them. I think he was good at what he did and it's sad to see him gone so soon.

This immediately made me sad. I feel like I've always known who Miguel was. I suppose the first time I really saw him was as the bad guy in Blank Check. I was always happy to see him pop up in things after that.
