R.I.P. Adobe Animate

I always wanted to use it, but kept delaying because of my procrastination and I never installed it. Now it fell for the same trap as the Flash Player.

what will they replace it with?

Likely nothing. Adobe has been in a sharp decline after waves of controversy the past few years and competitors are providing cheaper, more affordable options.

As the first post says, Adobe has had a long history ruining software.

RIP Adobe everything. I've been avoiding all their products ever since they went subsctiption-only, and I've never heard news of them getting better.
One time while doing research last year (around January) the PDF files on my Google Chrome were now defaulted to the Adobe Acrobat add-on.

If it's bothering you, there is a browser extension called PDF.js that can let you bypass that.

Ditto. Their wholehearted embrace of AI only clinched it.

They won't admit it, but there's speculation that it's going away because it's too hard to jam AI nonsense into Animate's code.

Which studios, films, and shows have been using Adobe Animate?

genuine question as an outsider, how will shows that rely on animate continue production? my assumption is it's a case by case basis. some shows will switch software's. i've read the program will be usable but you wont be able to access your cloud stored files, only your files saved locally. i imagine a studio buying servers for their animation files isn't a very viable option in the long run. what was even their MO here?

Teen Titans Go! had been using Animate, as far as I'm concerned.

I used Adobe Animate few times when I was on post-high school. It was hard using or animate something simple, so that's why I liked After Effects and Toon Boom more than Animate.

Wont be surprised if they do a episode about Adobe Animate being discontinued lol

I'm so used to not using it for a while so I won't miss it.

George of the Jungle 2007

It was one of the shows that had the least amount of quality control: in Star Power, at the beginning, Ape's mouth isn't fully colored in a frame and an entire scene, in the original 16:9 copies, near the end of the episode Cone Head, had a WIP tag they forgot to remove.

I've been using the software since Macromedia Flash 5, it's truly the end of an era.

Total Drama and its spin-offs (The Ridonculous Race and DramaRama) as well as the 2023 reboot have always been done in Adobe Animate AFAIK, given that Elliott Animation (the company who animated the show) had also used Adobe Animate in the shows they animate such as Yin Yang Yo!, the last few episodes of The Fairly OddParents, and Stoked.

To celebrate the fact that I got three weeks off from work for rest, I watched today the latest installment in the separate Minions series of movies. What I loved was the unique logo variation of the Universal logo, which was akin to the plot taking place in the late 1800s

Nicktoons in the US has recently aired something that no one expected: an AI generated ad for an overpriced plush toy.
Not everything from DC and Marvel comics needs to be more like the adaptations.
