Pound Puppies (2010) - News and Discussion Thread

Pretty cool! I'd also drop a line to the Hub on Facebook to consider renewing the show for a 4th season (I'm pretty sure at the end of the day we will though).

On that note, please write a letter to Hasbro to show your support for Pound Puppies, and ask them to renew it for a 4th season :-)

Also, for anyone who would like to know, more episode titles have been released. Most of them (currently) do not have a synopsis though;

Being a fan, I'd like to apologize for the lack of updates on this thread. With that, here's the synopsis for tomorrow's episode (via IO Digital Cable):

Beauty Is Only Fur Deep:

A heroic rescue dog arrives at the shelter without any fur; Squirt makes a him a full body toupee,, but the pup's lack of confidence makes it difficult to find him the perfect home.

Next week is 2 back-to-back new episodes (at 11am), both featuring Strudel!:

The Watchdogs:

Strudel begins leading a double life after being mistaken for a superhero, but her new job threatens her position on the team

Hail To The Chief:
Strudel is challenged with finding the perfect people for energetic pup.

As I write this, there are still no summaries for the next three episodes. Hopefully they will come soon, they sound very interesting.

"Lucky the Dunce" (Aug. 31)

"Back in Action" (Sep. 7)

"The Truth Is in Hear" (Sep. 14)

An update, there is finally a summary for this week's episode;

Lucky the Dunce:

When an accident makes Lucky go goofy, Niblet must decide whether or not to give him up for the good of the pups.

...What? Like he gets injured and then they decide to get rid of him? I guess I'll have to wait and see how it plays out, but some of these episodes are really making the Pound Puppies organization look pretty shallow. Like how Niblet flat-out told Cookie and Lucky that they couldn't get together or that team would fall apart. I don't like shallow.

Actually, it's more about Niblet being reluctant to "give up" new "Goofy Lucky."

...TVguide.com has some different details;

"Strudel's electronic scrambling device goes awry and causes Lucky to act zany. Meanwhile, Niblet must make a difficult decision about his new best friend."

So, it sounds like Niblet and "new Lucky" will become friends, and it sounds like Niblet will be reluctant to have Lucky go back to normal. So, it seems that there is potential for some emotional drama.

Oh, well, that's certainly better. Thanks for the clarification.

Simple in design, but the execution should be worth it - that's all I want more than anything, if only because this show has pleased me for the most part. But now it all comes down to the 2nd half to bring it all home.
Also, as long as Lucky doesn't start out acting like over-serious toward Niblet in the first act, this will definitely work out just fine.

That's one of the reasons why I wish the Kennel Kittens were better developed to put them in their place when deserved - it would improve and humble the characters' involved greatly, as well as better diversify the setup in general of cats and dogs in this show. Think about it...

The Kennel Kittens have certainly had their ups and downs in terms of characterization.

In a recent tweet that Eric McCormack made, he claims that he thinks that Pound Puppies might be done, but he hasn't heard anything official.

I am not giving up hope yet,

Please, if you are a fan of this show, please write letters to Hasbro and tell them that you enjoy the show and want it to continue;

Please guys, it does not hurt to write. With all due respect, this is no time to be lazy or apathetic. If you are a fan of this series, if you have enjoyed season 3, show your support by writing to Hasbro and telling them you want to see the show continue.

i liked it. i made 3 finished episode scripts that i personally made that i NEED to show Bart Jennett. I wud use LinkedIn (since i have an account on it), but i need to pay in order to contact him. :( I HAVE TO DO IT SOON!! But, first, i have to type them first. i have one done already :) PLUS, i have MANY MORE episode ideas that i've yet to write scripts for.

Synopsis for tomorrow's episode (according to IO Digital Cable):

No More S'mores:

"Shy pup Millard accidentally ends up on a camping trip with the High Energy Scouts and the Pound Puppies race to place him with his perfect person before the scouts overwhelm him for good!"

I'm trying buy the series on DVD in order, but there doesn't seem many options so far:
Only a single DVD has been released by Madman Entertainment in Australia, with no plans to release any more.
The DVD releases by Shout Factory in USA are too slow, and continue to only offer random episodes (ruining continuity) .
The German DVD releases are unfortunately German only, for some reason. Even though the German DVD releases of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic & The Littlest Pet Shop offer English & German audio.

Is there anymore news on DVD releases in other countries?

None that I'm aware. I even I asked Shout! about the possibility of season sets and they say they have no plans for them at this time. With that, here's what airing this week (info from IO Digital):

Little Monster (10/5):
Noodles feels left out when his humans bring home a bab named J.D. and comes up with a crazy plan to get rid of him.

and airing next week (10/12):

Rebound's First Symphony
After a dispute between Agatha and Sumalee's mother makes it nearly impossible for YoYo to be matched with Sumalee, beautiful music brings peace to the neighborhood when they finally get together.
