According to Cord Cutter News, Paramount plans to merge Nickelodeon with what's left of the Cartoon Network after its acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery is finalized.

I already mentioned on my profile that it's fake news: https://animesuperhero.com/forums/profile-posts/423722/

The PSKY-WBD acquisition didn't finish yet, so it's too early to say the channels are going to merge.

And in my opinion, they will surely remain independent to each other, I don't see the point of merging them. CN and Nick are way too different from each other to consider a merge.

But at least the two being under shared ownership (if the merger ever gets successfully approved and completed) could allow for very interesting crossovers!

Nickelodeon can't merge with Cartoon Network for one simple reason-- Adult Swim. It's Cartoon Network's highest-performing block by far. In fact, it draws more viewers than Nickelodeon itself, so they're definitely going to want to keep it around. But if they do, they can't have it take over time from Nickelodeon's own nighttime block, so the best thing to do is keep Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon as separate channels.

Cord Cutters News was just thinking that the merger was bound to happen and that they illustrated it with AI-recreated channel logos. So yeah, misinformation. I miss a simpler time

I do like Cord Cutters News for the daily news reports but predictions from their part are wrong. They still think CN will shut down when it's not. I think things stay as they are. I don't see merging the channels. Shutting down some channels is more likely and logical.

I totally agree with you, @Markus! Fans exaggerate things too much and it's getting annoying! CN IS NOT DEAD!!!

Again, they've been wrong about predictions for years but for daily news reports for the most part the news are real.

Honestly they should stop with these predictions as it hurts their reputation and credibility.

Either way, let's face it. The Cartoon Network's days are numbered. As for Adult Swim, they can just move most of its shows to Comedy Central.

There's also Nick@Nite but it's just licensed sitcoms

Both brands are successful internationally, so I don’t think they’ll merge. Plus, Nick is successful in live-actions, while CN tried to do that under the CN Real brand and produced programs such as “Destroy! Build! Destory!” and “Level Up!”, but later, it got scrapped for good and returned as an animation brand.

When Fox was merged with Disney, a big "justification" given was "we can finally have the mutants in the MCU!" Meanwhile, the merge itself was a consolidation of two mega-corps. Which prob was a justification for the current proposed mega-merger. Also, to my knowledge, a mutant has not been in the MCU until Deadpool 3, maybe-kinda. Which was years after the merger. [tho, honestly, I dont care anymore.] And what we do have is Disney munching up hulu for itself.

So, "cool crossovers of chars I thought would never meet" is not as cool to me anymore, as it used to sound.

Disney can still restructure itself to allow for some acquired Fox stuff, like 20th Century Studios, to be sold/spun off, even though they currently don’t feel like doing such a thing.

I really had to check out a Cord Cutters News article so thanks for that. It doesn't say the channels will merge if the terrible SkyDance buying WBD thing happens. It's saying the operations of the two channels would be merged which is correct. Right Now SkyDance has all their cable networks under one control same with WBD having most of their cable networks under one control. They would consolidate and fire people because that's what efficiency is. It doesn't make efficiency sense to have a Bob running Nick and a Joe running the Cartoon Network channel (just making example names) when you can fire both and have Eddie from CBS running both. (That's not even a joke, CBS people run Nickelodeon currently, there is no separate Nickelodeon president anymore and the animation studio was just put under CBS Studios).

The article is again not saying the channels will/are merging/merged, but talking about the idea of what will be their future which is correct if the (terrible) merger is approved then yes they will be consolidated operationally, probably all under the CBS guy. There will be more mass firings because that's how these things work. Ellison fired people back in October and that was barely a redundancy thing -that was just for his own fun- here there's going to be more because of redundancy and the large debt load.

Cord Cutters News has been terrible for years, I've even mentioned here. They don't proof read many times. They have said new channels on Pluto TV for example, that aren't new. They recently said the Pokémon Channel was new and no it was not.
