It's like the Nick Jr. Equivalent of Spongebob Squarepants, but it's an Acqusition

(In Canada, Corus only has rights to Earlier Season since 2022 and its Spinoff, New Episodes air on TVOKids since 2013)

My idea on how to reboot Shimmer and Shine:
1. Use season 1 2D animation, and not the CGI animation from season 2-4 because it is creepy. Plus, unlike with Thomas & Friends (which is reskinning the old models for it's upcoming 2026 reboot), the original assets are likely deleted by now anyway.
2. Have the whole show be set in the human world like season 1, but have the episodes have two 11-minute segments like season 2-4 (the Dora 2024 reboot has 2-in-1 episodes despite the original Dora being 22 minutes, which i think is proof Nick Jr no longer has faith in full 22-minute shows - as far as i know, Shimmer and Shine season 1 was actually the very last to ever use such a format).
3. Do not have Leah and Zac go to Zahramay Falls like they did in season 2-4, because they clearly said in season 2 of the original series that humans aren't allowed there. Zahramay Falls will only appear in brief scenes of the genies before they are summoned, like how it was used in season 1.
4. Remove the chant "Shimmer and Shine, my genies divine, through this special chant, three wishes you'll grant!" because it is kinda annoying to hear it in every episode (and i cannot come up with a version Zac would use to summon Kaz). Instead, when the genies' bracelets start glowing, just use a glowing noise like the one used in Teletubbies when their bellies were about to start playing a video.
5. Do not bring back the "Boom Zahramay (Up and Away)" song and the "Mistake Song" due to the episodes being too short for them now, much like how Dora 2024 no longer had any room to include the Travel Song or We Did It due to its shorter length.
6. Delete Zeta and Nazboo because they cannot leave Zahramay Falls, just like how Andrew Brenner did nothing with the Logging Locos after taking over Thomas & Friends because they and Misty Island were impossible to fix.
7. However, do keep Kaz (Zac's genie) and Princess Samira in the show despite them being introduced in season 2. Zac doesn't need to go to Zahramay Falls to meet Kaz (Samira can just assign Kaz to Zac while still sitting on her throne, like how she assigned Shimmer and Shine to Leah in the original pilot without moving a muscle), and Princess Samira is likely able to spawn in the human world to take genies away from kids for breaking the rules, since she is the ruler of Zahramay Falls and should be in charge of that.
8. Much like how none of Rugrats 2021 is canon to Rugrats 1991 whatsoever, it should have the entire timeline reset (Leah receives Shimmer and Shine all over again in the new episode 1a; and have Zac receive Kaz no later than episode 2b).
9. Keep Parisa out too since that fox will only complicate Leah's mission to make sure that no one aside from her and Zac knows about magic.
10. Have Leah and Zac find out about each other's genies by the end of Kaz's introductory episode, with the "don't reveal your genies" rule simply being revealed as being that only people without any genies learning your genies exist counts as breaking this rule.
11. Do not always have all three wishes of the day be seen on-screen due to the shorter length (some season 2-4 episodes of the original series started with Leah or Zac having already used some wishes, or ended before they could do the third wish). Also, either Leah or Zac has to have used at least some wishes by the time a episode starts.
12. Have Shimmer, Shine, and Kaz canonically be 18 years old since they are still meant to be "rookies", but their parents likely wouldn't allow them to grant wishes yet if they really were the same age as Leah and Zac, and just have it be that genies physically grow only half as fast as humans do (meaning Leah and Zac are both 9 years old as a result). And have the lore be so that genies are only assigned to children and have to return to Zahramay Falls (until a new child can be found) when the child turns 17 or 18, because i know certain adults will just try to use their three daily wishes to take over or destroy the world.
13. Finally add Leah's mother and father into the show because it is just creepy how they were not even acknowledged in the original series. Keep the genies' parents unseen though. Also introduce the school Leah and Zac go to, which was mentioned a few times in season 1 but never seen.
14. (Might be controversial) Replace Eva Bella, Isabella Cramp and Alina Foley with new actresses because they are in their 20s now and this is meant to be a fresh start anyway.

The season 5 premiere episode of DORA that was scheduled to air today on NJC has been pulled and replaced with a season 1 rerun last minute, resulting in season 5 premiering next Saturday instead.

The other new Dora episodes for this month was pulled as well.

NOT only that but DORA has been pulled from NickJr channel replaced by Peppa Pig rerun. DORA rerun only aired only last Jun 6.

DORA has been renewed for season 6 according to Paramount global. Season 5 was supposed to air on NickJr channel but was pulled.
