The article on EW also mentions the six "Initiation" shorts will premiere back-to-back on Disney XD on August 13th. The movie will be in the Fall.

The... the animation... looks nice!

Seriously, look at the animation in this trailer, this has to be some of the most fluent, expressive, and vibrant animation and character art Marvel has since Spectacular Spider-Man and Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes.

The animation does seem better in some spots .

Come to think of it, August 13th is a Monday, and possibly the last date Spider-Man airs new episodes before going on a hiatus. So these shorts will air either prior or after that show.

Seriously, look at the animation in this trailer, this has to be some of the most fluent, expressive, and vibrant animation and character art Marvel has since Spectacular Spider-Man and Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes.

The animation definitely looks like a step-up from what we usually see from Marvel Animation. Some of the designs and shots look a little unrefined, but overall the presentation and coloring is pretty solid .

"Ghost Spider" is an ex-Superhero? And framed for murder (in a kids cartoon) !?

It sounds like she was framed for a crime somehow and the shorts will be dedicated to her clearing her name with the other Marvel Rising heroes .

Milana Vanytrub's Squirrel Girl reminds me of Misty Lee's performance from Ultimate Spider-Man .

Oh hey, Gwen's bandmates. Assuming they are the same as in the comics, it's almost kind of hilarious that this is the first time we've seen really seen Mary Jane in animation since Ultimate Spider-Man, and Glory since Spectacular, and it's not even on the actual Spider-Man cartoon .

Although MJ has a very Marvel's Spider-Man short haircut .

Betty looks kind of weird though .

I am sorry I don't know what you guys are talking about, more fluid animation and expressive sure.

More vibrant that the rest; a little bit, but that doesn't make it vibrant enough, it still looks like Marvel's Spider-Man to me all the way to the background.

Sorry to me it's not solid and it even proves to me more that it's about time the studio goes on hibernation.

Now I know what Black Panther Quest will look like.

Other than that story wise it looks quit interesting.

Gwen's civilian clothing is pink and white shirt with a spider logo ? Any people make fun of the Power Rangers for having color coded outfits.

It looks pretty good to me so far. I'm looking forward to seeing how the complete shorts and movie turn out. The character animation is making a world of difference for me right now, and it's at least keeping the digital backgrounds and coloring from sticking out to me the way that it has with everything from Avengers Assemble to Marvel's Spider-Man.

I didn't remember if the band was mentioned but Glory was definitely mentioned as being included as Gwen's friend. If I remember correctly, Skai Jackson was cast as the voice (the Disney kid that Ryry was apparently based on).

Yeah, she's a drummer. Which instantly make this probably the most faitfhul adaption of Spider-Gwen from the comics .

Although it would probably seem kind of weird to have the logo of an accused killer on your shirt, even if that is also your logo .

Given the fact that Glory has her own casting announcement and character description, and had a line in the trailer, I'm guessing she's the only member of the band who will get significant screentime and focus...even though the band is named after Mary Jane .

The only difference between Marvel Rising and Earth-65 was that the kid who Gwen was accused of killing is "Kevin" instead of Peter Parker. Potentially because Spider-Man is active in this universe ?

So far, it doesn't look all that good to me. I wanna see more clips before I make a final judgement on the art and animation.

I wouldn't be surprised if we don't really see those characters until the movie. I wouldn't be surprised if we also don't see Gwen in the movie but that's just me.

Does anyone know who the female villain they're fighting is? Her makeup reminded me of Screaming Mimi but I don't recognize who this is.

Actually you know what I just noticed, the animation almost reminds me of the Little Nemo movie.

The Answer Studio comprise of former TMS animators (the studio behind the Little Nemo Movie, among other things), who, before the founding of the Answer Studio, worked at Disney’s long defunct Japanese animation studio.
