The second season of Justified makes its debut tonight at 10 PM Eastern.

Episode 2.01: "The Moonshine War"

While hunting for a loose sex offender, Raylan comes up against a ruthless Harlan County crime family.

Not quite as strong a season premiere as I expected, but still, it's nice to have new episodes after such a long wait. (One of the things I don't like about cable series is the longer-than-usual wait between seasons. It's been eight months!) I kind of thought Raylan felt almost like a guest star in his own series, but I suppose it helped in getting the time to introduce this season's new primary adversaries, and he had some terrific lines: "Normally I would have shot you myself the second you pulled. But I am doing my best to avoid the paperwork and self-recrimination that comes with it. But lord knows, you're the kind who makes it worth it more."

Who knew sweet ol' Millie from The Rocketeer (Margo Martindale) could play such a mean person? That final scene in the guy's kitchen where she just calmly talks to him after she's poisoned him was a knock-out. I also thought the young actress playing Loretta was very good, especially her first scene at the beginning in the barn where she held her own against the sex offender.

And of course, it'll be interesting to see what Boyd is up to know. Even when it came down to him and Raylan helping each other out at the end of the first season, I still had no idea exactly what was up with Boyd. I'm looking forward to seeing where he goes from here.

My only other complaint: too little Nick Searcy. I love that guy, but we've still got a dozen episodes. And I noticed the Tombstone poster in his office was gone, replaced by a giant Marshals star instead. But I actually kind of missed it.

Episode 2.03: "The I of the Storm"

A church bus containing a shipment of painkillers is hijacked, and Boyd is considered a likely suspect.

haha. This whole season has been made of win thus far. From the moment dewy pretended to be raylan on was just awesome.

Was nice to see Dewey again. I hadn't realized how much I missed him until he showed up. I loved every scene with him, from trying to by a ski mask ("Or a hockey mask, like they were in them slasher films!") to impersonating Raylan to trying to have a little party in the trailer, he was great. Art trying to figure out who Raylan was out seeing and having drinks with was funny, too. "I think I'd remember if it was me. Unless you roofied me. Did you roofie me, Raylan?" :D

I'm starting to think now that maybe Boyd really has changed since the beginning of the show, but is just struggling to figure out exactly what his new life is going to be. Very intriguing character he's proven to be.

Episode 2.05: "Cottonmouth"

The state task force probing organized crime in Harlan County wants to borrow Raylan.

Hahaha. First 5 minutes and the show failed to dissapoint.:D "Dewey you don't even know what TB is". Then the taser to the nuts, now that must have been painful, not as painfull is the hammer to the hand by mama but not pleasant for sure. Show is still win this far this season.

Once again, Boyd continues to surprise. You think you know what's he gonna do, then he pulls a 360 on you. His idea of how to take care of the situation he was in was crafty and hilarious.

Only complaint about the season I can think of at this point is too little Margo Martindale. After the premiere, we've only gotten to see her for a few moments in the episodes since. But she is terrific (still can't believe this is the nice, motherly lady from The Rocketeer :D ), and we need more of her. I can only guess they're saving her up for the final episodes of the season, at which point I hope she just gets unleashed and wages war.

Episode 2.08: "The Spoil"

Raylan is assigned to escort coal-company executive Carol Johnson to Harlan for a community meeting.

Raylan: "The only thing that we're on the same side of is, like, this car."

LOL!! That was so funny, especially because of the way Olyphant delivered it.

I thought maybe I had missed what the Bennetts are really up to, but I guess it's still a secret for viewers. (Perhaps they want the land to expand their pot operation? Or maybe it's something more devious.) I'm very anxious to find out. I'm guessing the big 'whoopty do' at the Bennett's next week is not going to go well. :D

Episode 2.09: "Brother's Keeper"

Mags and Carol Johnson talk turkey, with Boyd sitting in and Raylan just outside, standing guard.

"It's your mama's house Dickie, try to keep it in perpsective"

But there are so many other quote from this ep that were just golden

I must say I was suprised at who died. I thought for sure dickie was going to be the one to die after he stepped in between the girl and cooper and then I wasn't sure if the girl might not be killed and then at the end dumb old cooper ended up dying. This sin't going to go over well with the Bennets

Episode 2.10: "Debts and Accounts"

Mags is "settling accounts" in the wake of Coover's death.

Awesome episode.:D I thought for sure the ex wife was going to die this ep, maybe next week but her death flag has been raised. Next week looks to be another good episode.

Hard to believe the season's already over, but man, I'm sensing an epic finale approaching, perhaps including a small town war (with a sort of "every man for himself" feel among those involved) and at least a couple characters who will end up not being around for the third season. :D I'm wondering if those guys in the car were actually after Winona (we did see her soon-to-be-ex approaching Wayne Duffy about something a week or two ago), but I hope she's not killed off. And it seems Boyd as finally turned back to the dark side. I had been expecting it, but not this soon. Next week looks like the start of a great finish. Good to see we'll be getting some more Tim, too. I always like when he works with Raylan.
