A new original FX series makes its debut tonight at 10 PM Eastern. Based on the popular character U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens by novelist Elmore Leonard, the series is about a tough but soft-spoken federal lawman, enforcing his own brand of justice that conflicts with both sides of the law. The show has been given positive reviews and has been promoted heavily by FX. Will it do well? Tune in to find out.

Episode 1.01: "Fire in the Hole"

In the series premiere, gunslinging U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens faces off against his oldest friend in Harlan, Kentucky, a 21st Century Wild West.

Really great 1 ep I hope the Show keeps up the high standards

Despite by aversion to FX's series, I was particularly intrigued by the ads for this and decided to check it out. I'm glad I did, because I loved it! I like Timothy Olyphant and thought he was great in the role, and I like the show's setting. This first episode was a solid premiere, and the finale was particularly suspenseful.

Never thought I'd like an FX series, but the season preview looked very good, so I'll definitely be sticking around for awhile.

Awesome start to the show. I was looking forward to this for a while now. Through ever since sunday the ads kept saying that it was "premieres tonight at 10" And on tuesday the ads said "premiers tuesday at 10"

Episode 1.02: "Riverbrook"

I felt like this episode had a more even pace and the story flowed more fluidly than the premiere. I also like the show's sense of humor, such as when the homeowners were being tied up near the end, and think it's well-handled without feeling out of place with the rest of the show.

Episode 1.03: "Fixer"

In tracking a vanished confidential informant, Raylan goes against a pair of violent ex-cons who are just dying for a showdown with the "Kentucky Cowboy".

Haha!:D I knew that practice draw wasn't going to end well. Just wasn't sure who was going to die there:D

Good episode tonight. 3 for 3.:anime:

Episode 1.04: "Long in the Tooth"

Raylan and the mob compete to capture a fugitive, 'Roland Pike,' racing to the Mexican border.

INtresting start to the ep. Repo Dentist

"that the same option you presented tommy with?"

"and how did that work out for him"

:anime:

This series keeps getting better and better.

I agree, the end of the opening scene was like, "Oh, jeez!" :D I was literally cringing, then laughing at Ruck's "You can rinse now." Haha!! Between that, the early scene with Olyphant and Nick Searcy in the office, and Olyphant's "Oh, the little gay dude!?" it had some funny moments, too. I mentioned it last time, but I really like the subtle sense of humor this show has. And I liked how even though they were in Los Angeles, it still had a small intimate feel as if they were still in Kentucky.

Good episode with a nice (if a little sad) ending. I'm really digging this show and hope it'll come back for a second season.

I quite liked the first episode, but was a little bit disappointed that the show lacked the sort of edginess the promotion for it had implied. And although the next few episodes did have some amusing characters and situations, I found myself getting a little bit bored with the repetitive nature of the storylines, particularly the fact that every episode seemed to have a simple-minded but kind-hearted gal who just got mixed up with the wrong guy. Oh, and Raylan outdraws and kills someone, which got him "demoted" in Miami, but doesn't seem to incur much more than an increase in paperwork in Kentucky.

It's no wonder the ratings have taken a bit of a hit.

Episode 1.05: "The Lord of War and Thunder"

Raylan is forced to take sides when his estranged father Arlo Givens goes to war with a local drug runner.

wow. Didn't see that ending.:anime: I thought for sure is was all the drug guys fault and he was a villian

But they told you upfront that something fishy was going on, when Raylan's Dad broke into the place and called the police himself. Raylan deduced this at the end, but we already knew.

Anyway, I thought this was the worst episode so far. In fact, I'm extremely disappointed with how mediocre this show has turned out, so I'll drop it for now, and maybe check in later to see if things have improved.

I actually dropped it after the second episode. I thought the first episode was really good. But, by the second episode it seemed to have gone from dark and gritty to a light-hearted comedy. I wouldn't be surprised if it gets canceled.

A new episode airs tonight at 10 PM Eastern.

Episode 1.06: "The Collection"

A wealthy man seemingly commits suicide on a luxurious Kentucky horse ranch, and Raylan must hunt for his missing art collection while resisting the advances of his attractive widow.

So far this episode is made of pure win!

Their reactions when they heard Hitlers name, to "Do you still want me to come in?" "iIt kind of takes the fun out of it", to "I'd rather stick my **** in a blender" "well that would solve a few problems wouldn't it?""

Another good episode tonight.

Although it just isn't Justified without him shooting someone.

However it looks like we get back on that track next week.

Another good episode, and what a great guest cast, too: Robert Picardo, Peter Jason, Brett Cullen, and William Ragsdale. (In addition to regular Nick Searcy.)

Next week looks pretty wild, too, with Raylan literally vaulting over that table to attack Boyd. Wow!

As someone who's Portuguese, it just bugs me again that we lost. I wanted Portugal to win this time because this is Ronaldo's last, but no, we think Ronaldo has devolved significantly, and we lost against Spain.
