I've launched a new website at the WB Archives here at Toonzone called Voice, home to various editorial columns on WB Animation productions.

It is located at http://wba.toonzone.net/voice

I'm eager to hear what you think. If any of you are interested in becoming future contributors, email me or PM me. Starting tomorrow, I'll be out of town for two weeks but I'll get back to you ASAP. Thanks!

It was real intersting. I can't wait to read more. Oh, I liked the artical on Pinky the best.

For further study of the voice evolution over time, and to add to the comment that episodes didn't air in the order they were recorded, refer to the Animaniacs Handy Episode Manual, which lists the in-house production numbers for most of the cartoons (it will for even more someday when I get around to plugging in the numbers from later seasons).

You'll notice that the first recorded Warners short, Draculee, Draculaa, did not air until episode 29 (the 30th episode actually aired). But you can tell it is an early production, particularly by Dot's voice. As time went on, the difficult high-pitched voice became relaxed so much that it often was almost indistinguishable from Babs Bunny. Even the character models on this one appear different.

Has anyone here ever taken a tour of the Cartoon Network Studios building in Burbank, CA before it closed? I really wish I could have :(
