"There’s a recent He-Man mini-series that’s gone undernoticed at Dark Horse Comics. The first issue of “He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: The Sword of Flaws” released it’s first issue back in September, with a storyline revolving around Skeletor coming into possession of a sword that rivals He-Man’s “Sword of Power”. This marks the first He-Man comic in 5 years, as DC Comics last held the rights and published various He-Man series and mini-series between 2012 and 2020.
Starting in 2021, He-Man switched back to animation, with Netflix airing 3 different He-Man series. Now, with a new live-action He-Man film is set to debut next summer (starring Nicholas Galitzine starring as Prince Adam/He-Man and Jared Leto as Skeletor). Mattel and Dark Horse Comics must’ve concluded the time is right, as they’ve just announced the “Sword of Flaws” mini-series has now become a new ongoing He-Man series! Issue #5 will be the start of a new storyline, continuing the work of writer Tim Seeley (the writer of the first 4 issues), but now he will be joined by artist Reilly Brown."
