Gravity Falls is Ending

Well, it's said to see that Gravity Falls is officially on its way out (though a lot of us were already suspecting that), but at least it's ending when Alex wants it to and that it's going out with a bang. This was a great show!

Although it wasn't my favorite Disney Cartoon, it certainly won't be forgotten.

I appreciate the honesty - Let me share some as well, because while I did grow to love this show, that didn't happen until Season 2. Season 1 was just so-so for me. However, I am glad to have stuck it out and found such a God - Tier (overall, of course) show like this one.

It's rare to see a well beloved show end because of the creator chooses for it too(only other show I can think of that happening was Flapjack), and I'm even more surprised Disney is allowing it. Although I'm sure there's some clause contract that allows Alex to do all this.

Either way, in a world where our favorite shows end up canceled before their time, or a beloved show runs to the point where people wish it would end, it's nice to have a show that knows when to wrap up and move out. So I'm not sad about this at all.

Coincidentally enough, Hirsch also did some work on Flapjack. I actually kind of want to go back to the episodes he contributed to just to see if I can detect his style in there.

Hopefully they'll end it like Phineas & Ferb and simulcast the finale both on Disney XD and Disney Channel.
I find that pretty likely, actually. At the very least, they're definitely going to give it a lot of hype, even compared to what we're seeing now.

The only bad of this is in wanted another Pacific episode.

I have a feeling that Gravity Falls will continue using short episodes and puppets. Well I did like Dippers Guide to the Unexplained

I would apresiate if they did something irl after the end episode. Like that time where there were signs on various Tourist Traps and people went to look for them.

I think that Disney XD ratings will go down now that GF is ending so there's no reason for people to watch the channel.

Yeah - unless Penn Zero, The 7D, and WoY (to name some examples of unpopular fare on DXD right now, besides the Marvel stuff...) can garner fan-bases like Star Vs. has right now, viewership on this channel is going to go down horribly once GF is over with. Dang shame. I need more cartoons to watch on this channel I actually like, not just GF, thank you very much.

I don't think that I'd go that far. I've only had Disney XD for a little over a week, but I don't think that Gravity Falls is the only reason people watch the channel. I like watching Phineas and Ferb reruns, especially when there is a good chuck of the series that I haven't seen yet, Ultimate Spider-Man is pretty fun and Guardians of the Galaxy is really fun. I haven't seen the other shows like Penn Zero or The 7D, but I'm sure that other shows are doing well for XD. I'm sure that new Star Wars series is doing well for them. Gravity Falls is great, but I don't think that's the only reason people watch Disney XD.

Well, I am glad to see USM get better after such a bad start (didn't catch too many episodes, but what I did catch of it is a lot better than I thought...), I do enjoy watching Star Wars: Rebels (even if going by the movies, we all know how this ends, but the journey is proving to be worth it, however!), and Guardian of the Galaxy, while nothing spectacular, is pretty darn good, despite coming from the same Marvel guys and their unfortunate track record, otherwise.

I just hope people are watching this channel for more than GF - like I said, that should not be the only thing driving this channel once it's gone, knowing that ISN'T the only show I (myself, for an example) like on this channel, that's all.

I'm positive that people are watching this channel for more than Gravity Falls. There are other popular shows on the channel and I don't think that they'd be coming here just for one show. I might have been catching the better episodes of Ultimate Spider-Man since most of the episodes I've seen are from seasons two and three. Gravity Falls is pretty popular, but I don't think that it's so huge that it's the only show people watch Disney XD for.

Heck, I know I'll be tuning back into the channel when the DuckTales reboot airs. Not to mention their fairly frequent airings of animated Disney/Pixar movies. But yeah, Gravity Falls' finale is truly the end of an era.

It will in about two years

Given the quality and fanbase of this show, I highly doubt Gravity Falls will be forgotten anytime soon. In fact, when it's the 2030s, people complaining about how the cartoons of that era suck will definitely cite Gravity Falls as one of the 'classics' in the same way people today cite DuckTales as a 'classic' for instance.

I always thought Flapjack was cancelled but was allowed to have a conclusion, same with Chowder.
Phineas and Ferb
is another show that ended on the creators' terms.

Why do you think it will be forgotten in two years? Based on the popularity of the show, it seems pretty unlikely that it will be forgotten by the masses in just a short amount of time.

Unlike most Canadian fare that was on this channel, GF will be remembered. Long remembered.....

I can't say I'm surprise. But I think this will become a classic for many years to come.

I hope Disney plans to still milk this show even after it has ended. like come out with some merchandise like video games (and I don't mean just the ones on their website and handheld games) and maybe get Alex to do some specials.

Have they announced a date and time for the one-hour series finale?

I have another theory as for why Johnny Bravo is neglected by CN nowadays. Putting aside the basic concept, it's the retools that made the show chaotic.
