It's interesting they are going to air the 1947 version of Miracle on 34th street , just once though, Freeform doesn't really air black and white films, except for Frankenweenie.

Not often you see a black and white film on Freeform , this was the first time they've aired Miracle on 34th street

Not sure if it ever aired on Fox Family, it was a FOX film. The remake still airs too

Also for some reason, they have decided to air Richie Rich's Christmas wish in stretched form, looks terrible

Today marks 10 years since ABC Family become Freeform.

10 years as Freeform. Even with streaming, I have the notion that the channel is doing well.

The interesting thing is the channel never really changed that much, they never really could. I liked the first logo and the current logo is nice, the 2018-2022 logo was terrible and the slogan was also terrible. There's also people who probably don't even know what they are. The only big difference is that they don't have many sitcoms anymore only airing two shows : Boy Meets World and According to Jim (lol). I am glad they haven't been to Disney-ized in where they still air movies from other studios.
The "Becomers" thing was terrible and kind of good that blew up, but shame there's not much teen programming anymore , it feels that teen media has really been devalued.
I wonder if Tom Ascheim regrets leaving Freeform to for AT&T warner where everything went down hill. It's just funny that I've been watching this channel since it was FOX Family.

I didn't realize that it has been that long since the channel was rebranded. I'll still call it ABC Family every once in awhile as a habit. Freeform never really caught on as a name. A rebranding was necessary, but it definitely happened way too late, so that probably made the name harder to click for me. Granted, by that point, I was mostly just watching the channel during the Halloween and Christmas seasons. I used to watch movies there every now and then, but that became less frequent over time.

I do remember those Fox Family days and the early rebranding as ABC Family. The channel lost a lot of charm once Jetix and their animated shows were removed. I did enjoy watching sitcom reruns, but it just wasn't the same. That probably contributed to me watching the channel less over time as well.
